It does very quickly become a problem for some bridges, apparently. The sheer weight of the padlocks can push some bridges over their designed load limit. Particularly in France, where I understand the tradition started, some authorities are regularly having to cut locks off to prevent damage caused by the weight.

I'd never have thought about NFC like that. I could do with one in the place on my desk at work where I put my phone that turns it onto vibrate, etc. I'll have to take a look at that. Cheers. :)

I would want the Mini Cooper. It's the only real "everyday" car on the list that has a classic design look. I can't imagine trying do drive any of the others to work every morning or over the speed humps on our street (expect the Ford Focus, but that's a Ford Focus so doesn't count). Plus, there is no way I could afford to insure anything on that list other than the Mini or the Focus.

I'm not sure about anyone else. But at no point am I ever likely to save enough money to purchase a top-end smartphone like and S4 or Note 2, such as I have become accustomed to owning. £40 a month, however, is something I can afford.

For me, therefore, to decouple the phone cost and the service cost the providers would also have to give credit on the purchase of the phone. And I'm not sure I'd be any better off.

How about "RT" vs "via", which seem to be used interchangably at the moment.

To my mind, if you are directly quoting the original Tweet you should use "RT", which makes it clear that the words are not your own.

If you're simply re-posting an interesting link or picture with your own commentry you should use "Via" crediting the original person with the posting of the link but indicating that it's not a direct quote.
