I am in no way encouraging people to abandon email or billpay or whatever, as these technological advancements are ecological revelations.  All mail from me will be on recycled paper in recycled envelopes.  I'll even use a recycled pencil to further sate your eco-antogonism.  Love the Creator and His creation.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;But if we're talking about fuel and emissions and other side effects of physical mail, I don't have much of a defense.  I'd like to stick up for the folks who have invested their working years in a non-stop, monotonous field that we all take for granted.  Here's to people keeping their jobs and feeding their families.  That, and I doubt there would be many eco-friendly industries snapping up vacant Post Offices.
