If they do, they HAVE to pay him a percentage of his average work hours and pay from the past 12-14 weeks. Good luck.

Re: Light-duty work can bring heavy questions for employers, employees | Monster.com

It is different in every state and I believe not all companies participate in Workers Comp. However, when I was injured on the job about 7 or 8 years ago, I was put on light-duty during the day. I was a night-shifter. Due to this, I did not have to come in at the normal 0700 time. I would come in about 1000 or 1100. When I had to leave for doctor's appointments or PT, I would clock out from work. Worker's Comp took my average pay rate and number of hours that I had been working for the past 12-14 weeks, multiplied that by 90% and that was the number of hours that I was guaranteed to be paid for. Scenerio: Was scheduled for light-duty, Monday-Friday, 0800-1700. I worked Monday, Wednesday and Friday (1100-1400) and had to leave early to be on time for PT at 1530. I would work Tuesday (1000-1200, leave for lunch and my follow-up doctor's appointment with the Orthopedist and then back to work from 1530-1700), and I would work on Friday (1100-1700 w/ 1hr lunch). That is actually working a total of about 29.5 hrs/week. My work week that I was guaranteed to get paid for was 40 (even though my average work week for the past 12-14 weeks had been 60+/week, my company did not pay or allow overtime for worker's comp.) So since I was only able to WORK about 29.5 hours, Worker's Comp paid the 10.5 hours that I was short for a full work week. Hope this gives you an idea of some of the benefits that you are entitled to. I contacted the local office (Texas Department of Insurance - Division of Workers' Compensation). See if there is a local office for you to get information from. Good luck.

Re: Texas to no longer require auto inspection sticker

I think I missed the announcement of the front plate requirement being stopped. Where did you see this? I have been driving since I was 15 and that is quite a while now, and I JUST received my first ticket for No Front Plate about 2 years ago. It was ridiculous. My vehicle didn't even come with holes in the bumper for a front plate.

Re: 'Mrs. Doubtfire' Is Getting a Sequel!

I thank God they don't want Mara Wilson in it. She was cute when she was little, but now... We'll leave it at that.

Re: The New Year's first murder

April (the murderer) WAS the step-daughter of Randall Bryson, a quadraplegic, paralyzed from the chest down, who was laying in bed when she shot him multiple times in the head w/ a rifle. This idiot Penshorn just wanted her 15 minutes of fame. She actually had the nerve to come to the house a few days later, as my other brothers & I were cleaning up and moving out my brother's furniture. As a nurse myself, I take great offense to April being referred to as a nurse... SHE WAS NOT A NURSE, she was merely a caretaker who was also supposed to clean and his house was disgusting. She would leave for the weekends and leave a bowl of food next to his bed to eat out of (like some kind of dog)...
