I have to put some blame on the passengers here. When I travel internationally, I... (a) know which airlines I am flying, (b) check in online for all airlines, (c) never leave the counter without all boarding passes. I'm guessing they were at the counter because they needed to check bags... which were checked to CDG, another thing I would have checked. Yes, CO messed up, but you cannot be a lemming as a passenger. If you are, then you must accept some of the blame.

No offense, Sonia, but regardless of the paragraph you wanted to highlight, you entered a very public debate and mentioned your child in doing so. So it's fair game for others to jump in: *you* opened the door and invited them in.

You seem intelligent and rational. I'm not here to argue with you, but I wanted to point out that you seem to have become indignant and offended when people have brought up your situation. Rather than telling people to "mind their business," it might be best to refrain from posting it to a discussion thread. This entire article and thread is exactly about that "business."

I don't think the guy would survive a mainstream nationwide election. He is devoid of any intelligence or original thought. Texans here keep electing him simply because he has an R next to his name, and he has big Texan donors. They're scared of Democrats — so much that the Texas GOP-led legislature is gerrymandering the state right now for house apportionment to ensure no Democrats even have a chance. He's a fool and a coward.

You're correct; there are no medical studies suggesting that circumcision reduces sexual pleasure -- because it can't be medically measured. What *can* be measured is the number of nerve endings that are deliberately removed for no valid reason.

I never claimed that there were medical studies about sexual pleasure, and if there's any "distortion," it's not on my part.

And I'm not a part of NO-CIRC.

I have to agree with Tom on this one, except for this bizarrely ironic sentence: "Hey Libtards....try not to clump all right wing nuts into the same category." Um, Tom, you just put all liberals in the same category. Don't be that guy.

This boils down to two things: (a) The newspaper legally has the right not to publish, and (b) it's a completely stupid business decision on their part.

While I can empathize with the couple, they even admit that the lawsuit is pretty pointless, except to "shine light" on something. Clogging up the courts with lawsuits you know you won't win isn't how you do that; you do that by getting people elected who will fix the laws.

And there's a bit of ego in here, as with all wedding announcements: who cares? Your friends and family already know, and the rest of the readers don't give a toss. This is about seeing your name and photo in print. I appreciate the equality aspect, but I just see a bigger need to choose battles more wisely.

Finally, ask doctors? OK. No professional medical association in the United States or the rest of the world recommends routine neonatal circumcision. The American Medical Association calls it "non-therapeutic." At no time in its 75 years has the American Academy of Pediatrics ever recommended infant circumcision.

No, I think you've missed the point here. Everyone has rights, regardless of age. A child has the right not to be kidnapped or raped, correct? Even if it's by their parents?

You are confusing the age of 18 with PRIVILEGES. At 18 you can smoke, vote, etc.

But you cannot say that they are their parents' property, which is basically your argument, or else I'd like to introduce you to Children's Protective Services.

Bottom line: Where the hell does a parent get off deciding to mutilate my body IRREVERSIBLY when I cannot even speak? We don't even let babies get tattoos, but you're OK with making them get a permanent disfigurement?

Finally, Angela, because you think circumcision has preventative health benefits, I'll say it again: Why not have doctors start removing breast tissue, since breast cancer is pretty prevalent? How would you feel if your parents did that to you before you knew it?
