Tories are hypocrites. The only real friends they have are the ones they can convince to vote for them. Anything else is a charade to steal votes. If they didn't get the Jewish vote they would suddenly like the muslim world more.

Since health care professionals are calling for a spike in workplace absenteeism as the 2nd wave of H1N1 kicks in, wouldn't you want to take precautions to avoid a situation where...oh I don't know...the government falls by accident because too many legislators are at home puking, or legislation deleterious to the well being of the nation gets passed?

I have been across this country many many times, to sporting, meetings and political events, in every province and territory and have never seen anyone not proud of our flag. I see proud Canadians displaying it on lapels and bags overseas.

Bat Cave B and Liz J hysterical, since you two are so knowledgeable and this debate touches on the Pearson era, please tell us what Harpo and thugs have accomplished that makes Canada a better place.

1. Are we fiscally better off as a Country?
2. Do we have a better presence internationally?
3. Are we culturally better off?
4. Has our medicare system improved?
5. Is the current government more accountable as promised in their key platform?

You don't need to compare them to Pearson's government only because that would be unfair of me to expect that.

Bec, the discussion isn't even warranted in my opinion. Our host is simply trying to change the dialogue frm the bad news all around him in tory land. Reformatory corruption is not something he can easily write about.

In case you hadn't noticed Dalton is spending money like Harpo and basically has that as cover. HST will drive higher revenues and at the appropriate time he will blackmail Harpo into more transfer funding becasue Harpo desperately needs Ontario votes.

We'll then see how that lays out since WK will be there to help his side out. It will be interesting as he knows how to play the reformatories off like a fiddle and they will soon be fending off their own scandals and poor governance.

This new party will play havoc with Harpo's reformatories. I believe she will come to show how real conservatives act ad that will hurt the Harpo machine there which has nothing to offer based on the party's simple inclination to be whatever it takes to stay in power. Albertans don't like that mix. I also note Stephen did not ask about a federal version of WR that has been rumoured.

She could have easily been referring to the federal party as well based on their recent senate appointments and their mismanagement of the treasury.
