A lot of batwing formations on the daily charts out there, including the S&P. Remind us again what that batwing formation means.

Valuations in miners are sick. When they get this sick, well, they get terminal? Nice pop in GM today as well as KLAC. RIO and POT back on the radar.

I'm leaning toward that as being about right. Lotsa big bulls have missed this rally past few years and want in so it could be manufactured. What is scary is that Russia and China dumped US Treasuries long before the US sanctioned Russia and Obama removed the Saudi security protection by giving Iran control of oil. This is either going to be a pullback to buy (like you say 6%) or its the beginning of the real financial earthquake.

I don't think Greece and Puerto Rico are bringing down the market, I think it is the weakness in China maybe. Not that the market is down that much...yet.

Looks like I was a week early on my short the market call. But still not too bad. I'm wondering if the market is going to produce another leg down here as well. I'm gunna stay dry over the weekend and hope for a big market down day and possibly week next week. The market really does need to pull back to keep the sustainable uptrend alive. Otherwise it will just go parabolic and then crash (and most of us experience traders will miss that). Need volatility to make money trading.

I can't believe all of the bearish calls on gold. Makes me wonder if it has bottomed.

Paper currency is a system of exchange. The U.S. government owns 100% of every penny and dollar ever created. With each new administration in the white house, they do more to control those dollars primarily through the tax law. We the people do not own "our" money.

With China attempting to hoard all the gold, the U.S. will never be able to repay them. The only option will be war. When will China strike? Will Russia join them? Interesting times.

If I were the boss of this Citigroup analyst, I'd fire him. Comparing gold to bitcoin must give him an IQ of 10. Well at least it tarnished Citigroup's rep. Precious metals are the only real items on earth. An argument could be made for oil as well.

Do you mean Citigroup? I think the stock is close enough to the gap up around $54 that it will fill that. I don't see it making new highs on this wave however. BAC settlement helping the banks.

..thinking DOW 20k by May or even January is possible. If the GOP takes the senate, Yellen will raise rates as a surprise, leaving us with no Xmas rally. Otherwise I see this market just grinding higher. Bombings in Iraq, Russian war with Ukraine, and an American Health Insurance crises all not causing a decent decline in the market so I'm wondering if WW3 could even do it at this point.

Will it be the gold standard or the oil standard? Perhaps lawmakers will price the dollar in terms of land or water instead? It will certainly be interesting to see what they decide. I vote gold.

Devin. The U.S. dollar has no value. The profits of companies, the dollars you make at work, and dollars you send to pay bills are all worthless. Stocks are smoke and mirrors. Gold is real. Oil is real. Corn is real. Buy commodities and thank me when you are a millionaire.

Company profits are real? I suppose if you believe them. The problem is that those profits are in dollars and the U.S. dollar is completely worthless. If those profits were paid in gold...well that's a different story that our politicians can address down the road when gold blows through $10k/oz.
