This article reeks of Apple Fan Boy desperation. The iPad is mainly a consumption device, with a teeny bit of production capability. The future is devices that excel at both consumption and production. A Windows 8 tablet allows BOTH consumption and production at excellent levels. What idiot would buy a consumption only device for $500 (iPad) when you can consume and produce (Windows 8 tablet)? The Answer? Apple Elitist Fan Boys.

For example, the ASUS Q200E has been selling for just under $500 for the past month or so. Now, BestBuy is advertising the ASUS Q200E with $100 OFF (small letters "retail") and it's still JUST UNDER $500.

Wow BestBuy and WSJ. Thanks for nothing. $100 off retail, which they were already doing for the past month or so.

Letterman is a creepy old man, who used his power relationship to coerce attractive younger women who otherwise would have nothing to do with him, into having sex with him.

To me, this is the white-collar equivalent of rape. But instead of using physical force to get younger women to sleep with him, he uses psychological force (his boss-employee power relationship) to coerce younger women who would never NEVER otherwise have sex with him, to engage in all kinds of sexual acts with him.

Disgusting. Now his sexual joke about Sarah Palin's 14-year old daughter all makes sense.

So, with that in mind, if it's "crap" then argue against it!

Let me easily counter your argument. While it may be true that the police had Letterman wired, it's NOT TRUE THAT THEY HAVE EXTORTION PROOF. An exchange of money is not proof of extortion. Even the wired conversation is not proof, if prior (unwired) conversations showed the exchange to be a valid transaction (e.g., Letterman buying the script treatment).

You're the one who's lying about what's on the tape. I, however, was clear that my posting was a plausible alternative scenario.

Unfortunately, you libs have drank the Liberal Letterman Kool-aid so often that you can't even imagine plausible alternative scenarios.

Fair and balanced, try it some time.

Well, I already made 10 points, so I'll oblige you and do eight more.

Points 10-18: 10. Letterman is ugly by normal standards, 11. Letterman is creepy by his own admission, 12. Letterman had sex with the women that worked under him, 13. Letterman admitted that the women would be embarassed if other people knew, 14. Halderman is a writer, 15. Halderman sold Letterman a script treatment for $2M, 16. Letterman bought the script but panicked and decided to claim it was extortion, 17. Letterman tried to cover up his affair by framing it as a joke during his monologue and getting the audience to giggle about it, 18. Letterman is a hypocrite.

Conclusion: All liberals who are defending Letterman are hypocrites.

I only brought that up because it's Halderman's job to write documentaries and expose's. So pitching a script treatment to Letterman that exposes Letterman's unethical treatment towards women is not out of character for Halderman.

Everytime he makes fun of the failings of public figures, he's assuming a role of moral superiority. To see this, ask yourself if he would make fun of John Edwards NOW, now that he's been exposed as a creepy woman stalker.

Unfortunately, I haven't read any convincing counters to my arguments: (1) that Letterman is unethical for using his boss-power relationship to sleep with women that otherwise wouldn't sleep with him; (2) that Letterman bought the rights to the script for $2M, then panicked and tried to claim it was extortion; (3) that Letterman is a creepy scumbag ("creepy" by his own admission); and (4) that Letterman, being a creepy guy probably had the younger women teabag him, making him the ultimate teabagging hypocrite.

Okay, 4 may be stretching it but I wouldn't put it past a creepy guy like Ltterman.

In conclusion, when you libs can only name call and can't argue back convincingly, it just makes us thinking Americans smile.

I love how the far left isn't even giving Halderman the benefit of the doubt.

If we take a fair and balanced approach to this story, we can equally find Dave Letterman at fault. For the following reasons:

1. Letterman, as a comedian that makes fun of the misfortunes of other people, places himself on a higher moral ground than the people he makes fun of.

2. Letterman admitted to having sex with his younger female employees--using his boss power relationship to get younger, nubile women into his casting couch just to satisfy his perverse craving for the younger bodies of women.

3. Letterman knew that the women would be embarrassed by having sex with him. He stupidly admitted this in his monologue. This means, he knew what they would normally not sleep with an old flabby guy like him, unless he abused his power relationship to influence them into having sex with him.

4. (And this is ultimate manipulation trick) Letterman TRIES TO COVER UP HIS UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR, by telling it as a joke monologue and TRICKING THE AUDIENCE TO LAUGH. His monologue was just an attempt to brainwash the audience and the viewers into thinking his unethical behavior was no big deal. Afterall, listen to everyone laughing in the audience. They thought he was telling a joke. But it was just another power manipulation trick. To the viewers they get the impression that the laughter means that everyone in America approves. Far from it. Imagine if he admitted this on the Factor, instead of passing it off as a joke. The outrage would be clear.

I wouldn't put this past Letterman. Afterall, he admitted to manipulating young female interns and female employees into having embarrassing sex with him.

In conclusion, let's be fair and balanced folks. Either party could be at fault. But the evidence points to a manipulative coverup by Letterman in my opinion.

Whoa, when I think about this scenario more and more, it really brings out what a scum bag Letterman is.

First, he uses his power relationship with his younger female employees to sleep around with them. These are women that would be ashamed to admit it if the truth came out (Letterman's own monologue).

Second, he uses the influence of his late-night show to trick the audience into laughing about the whole scenario. Let me repeat that: he TRICKED the audience into laughing about the scenario--probably to garner sympathy from the American people. Probably trying to put out the impression that his sleeping around is no big deal to the American public. A variation of a trick from the Saul Alinsky playbook.

Third, he takes the money he paid Halderman to write a script, and claims that it's extortion money.

My friends, Letterman is worse than a politician. By making fun of other people on a nightly basis, he's essentially taking the high moral road like a politician. But by using his media influence to trick people into laughing about the incident, he proves what a MANIPULATOR he really is.

Just like he used his power relationship to manipulate young women into having sex with him.

I figured it out. David Letterman is a liar. The key here is what's known as the Script Synopsis or Script Treatment.

Like all writers, Halderman (an award winning, famous writer / producer) came to David Letterman to show him his script treatment.

As professional courtesy, and a favor to Letterman, he showed his Script Treatment to Letterman, to get Letterman's feedback.

Letterman freaked out and realized that the script treatment -- if expanded into a full blown script -- would make him look "creepy" (Letterman's own words)

So Letterman VOLUNTARILY GIVES Halderman $2M NOT TO PUBLISH.

VOLUNTARILY.

Therefore it's NOT extortion.

Letterman, like all politicians is trying to cover up his mistakes. He voluntarily gave Halderman $2M not to publish. But then like all slimy unethical people, he decided to lie and say it was extortion.

Yeah right Letterman. Give it up. Who are we as thinking Americans to believe? A guy that admits to sleeping with young women and who admits that they would be embarrassed about it? Or an award winning writer and producer.
