People are really serious about yerba mate in Argentina. The host will pour you a serving of it in that clay looking bowl device called a bombilla. They expect you to drink it quickly until you are finished. You then pass it to the host who fills it with more hot water and passes it to someone else. It's kind of like passing a bowl around, but you just get a caffeine-like buzz.

It's a lot like loose leaf tea. You'll probably end up bringing home a dozen yerba mate kits for gifts and make a dozen more posts about what flavor you're into that week.

You really did make a point to keep saying "we're drinking fuzzy navels" which i found funny. But was it really that bad? I mean, the majority of these kids were a year older than you and a year younger than me. They were all really nice, not judgmental and just into the olympic theme. get out of your head, carlye!
