It is now legal to circumvent region-locking on all DVD players. Narrative is all-inclusive - "what's happening in the story," if you will. And what happens in the story (narrative) contradicts what happens in the game (ludo). I've read Clint Hocking's BioShock post - it's a must-read - but you can't go separating "characterisation" from the overall narrative for convenience's sake, especially in this case, when the entire narrative is about Elizabeth. Otherwise you may as well coin the term "ludocharacteristic dissonance" or something equally terrible.

Re: Jimquisition: Lugoscababib Discobiscuits

I feel you completely misrepresented the ludonarrative dissonance argument for BioShock Infinite. The dissonance comes from Elizabeth's dismay at the violence, which is almost immediately tossed aside in favour of her tossing you more bullets, more vigours, and more money to fund said violence.

Re: Jimquisition: Lugoscababib Discobiscuits

I like the bit at the end where you hold open your suitcoat like the wing of a proud eagle.

Re: Imagination Is The Only Escape returns on Indiegogo

That plot synopsis sounds one helluva lot like Pan's Labyrinth...

Re: So the 2DS is actually just one big screen

I was originally holding out until the second nub, but I got impatient, took the plunge, and haven't looked back ever since.
