Makes life easy and as you say brings a better sense of community and ownership of comments.

Re: ProLost - ProLost Blog - Me @ NAB

I like Disqus, saves me from remembering dozens of different logins just to post comments.

The rig looks interesting, but a little awkward gripping the left hand side and using the follow focus at the same time...

Re: Photos that make my eyes water: Red Rock, March 2009

Seriously beautiful, looks like some awesome lines there as well :)

Re: Pink biners, pink cams and pink ropes, oh my!

Any time.

I'm now a product designer so bad design choices annoy me for a whole different set of reasons.

Better gear design benefits everyone in the end. I'd love to see the dissapearance of gender stereotyping in fashion and design, but that's what you get in the age of informatics when people think they can understand a market by compiling some statistics and letting accountants rule the decision making. Support small local manufacturers and you end up with people who understand their customers and listen to their feedback.

Re: Pink biners, pink cams and pink ropes, oh my!

Ok I'm a guy, but I thought I'd come out in solidarity.

Having climbed with a lot of female partners AND worked in a gear shop selling outdoorsy clothing and kit I have to say I'm right with you on the appalling lack (generally) of well thought out lady specific designs and a nice selection of colours. I can't count the number of times I've had a female customer look with horror at the colours the outdoors manufacturers have picked for them. I've yet to find a brand that bothers to do good basics (ie black, blue, red, green) + selection of more interesting colours for women. We eventually gave up mentioning this to company reps as they're slooooow to make any changes, what did we know, we were only talking to their customers day in day out right?
