Could it be the intersection of the unemployed, opportunity in the space, and individuals whose reach exceeds their grasp? After all, experience executing a social media strategy in one's former job doesn't mean one can develop said strategy. I think the shakeout is already happening.

Especially within social media, you can't outrun your reputation.

Re: My First Article on Mashable

Yes you were!

Re: Apple issues statement on iPhone 4 reception issue, states update is coming “within a few weeks”

So how is it that me covering the little black strip wit my hand overrides this software formula problem? The only down side to my Sprint Overdrive is that it eats through the batteries almost as fast as my iPhone. Fortunately, unlike the iPhone, I can carry two extra spares while traveling. It holds three charges for the iPhone.]

Re: http://blog.louisgray.com/2009/09/find-similar-people-and-interests-with.html

Hi Louis. One feature that isn't mentioned is that this case actually charges the iPhone. I dislike the bulkiness of the case because I carry my iPhone in my pocket. So, I simply snap the iPhone into the case when it gets low and it usually takes less than a half hour to charge back up. I haven't actually tested how many times it will recharge the iPhone, but I too am recharging the case about every two or three days.

Re: http://blog.louisgray.com/2009/07/we-have-invites-five-stages-of-beta-and.html

Nice summary Louis - thanks for the invite to lazyfeed, looks interesting.

Re: Three Years

Congratulations Jeremiah! I came to a similar conclusion early on. I don't follow everyone that follows me. I check out their stream and if I "smell" gaming going on I avoid them. On the other hand, I follow several thought leaders that don't follow me back - and I'm fine with that. I'm following them because they are providing great information and commentary.

Re: Focus on Things Under Your Control

If I remember correctly, it was Covey that distinguished between one's circle of concern and circle of influence. Hadn't really thought of this in the context of The Matrix, but it certainly fits. Thanks for the information. I 'like' and 'hide' profusely. Most of my time on FriendFeed is my "in between" time, and on my iPhone. I like things I want to link to and read later, and hide things I've already read and don't want to see again when I refresh the feed. This is going to make it even easier to manage the information flow. Cheers!

Re: The Well Funded Layoff

Thanks Robert and Loic.
