I may be tongue in cheek here -- and maybe not, but could it be as simple as retention of iOS devices is that much higher than Android as a platform?

Great work - my parents and grandparents will love this option to see pics/vids from the kids on their Macs. Would love the ability to view video -- but my guess is API access might be needed to make that happen? Anyway, if you and the Path team could give that a go, my family would love it for sure!

When will it be (or is it already) possible to have two people's Amazon accounts on a single Roku (either within the same app or in a redundant app)? My wife and I both have separate accounts, but one Roku. Any way to manage this better than authorizing/unauthorizing the app each time we want to switch?

Doesn't the last bullet point scare anyone away from being a real fan of this concept?

"Bill sees the site functioning with limited fan interaction, including a selection of about 300 fans with exclusive access to comment on the site and interact with contributors."

I would rather they shut interaction off entirely than gate it to an elitist community for me to eavesdrop on.

There is, by nature, nothing wrong selling text links like these. There is however something wrong with implementing them without a "no follow" reference for Google bots (which would kill the page rank juice). I am surprised there is no mention of this in the context of this article.

We had/have the same experience with our 4 year old. Seems like she's finally started to turn the corner and "go to the potty and then back to sleep" by herself or wake up and get her animal from the floor without calling us. But only very recently.

As for Julia -- she's taken well to the no feeding. She still wakes for 1o minutes of babbling to soft crying before going back down on her own. So far -- so good.

But you are right -- solve one problem and another is just around the corner. Such is life as a parent. Always a moving target!

It's fun...but I don't think there is a need for a social browser when everything inside the ropes is on the way to being social already. Good product, but not needed enough to matter.

People would need to be much better at managing permissions, or having default permissions set at the most limited set of information before *wanting* their neighbors to access their personal lives this minutely. I am friends via social networks with some neighbors, but not all -- some my decision, others likely theirs. I like the concept of connecting neighbors and neighborhoods, but wonder if we are ready for that level of transparency?

On the tech side, I wonder if the soon to launch Diaspora plus a location graph like Simple Geo could bear the common backbone of technology and networks to make something like this a reality without using the giants in the space.

Great points...I think this argument has merit on both sides. There are clear pros to either side and the cons are likely very linked to the individual.

I do have to agree that when looked at from a macro or socioeconomic level, the concept of school uniforms has significant benefits.

While I like the thought that who you are and what you wear are two separate things, I do think that there can be a healthy way to allow children to express positively through fashion -- an that is on the parents to give healthy perspective around the topic.

All in all -- great discussion!

Safe parent, FAIL. I like to think that the words "unattended" were somehow left off the warning. Julia's thighs are chubby enough that once she is in there it acts as a safety device. She's not going anywhere ;)

I predict the move to the high chair within the next few weeks. The Bumbo's lifespan seems to be about 6-9 months depending on baby's size.

I called my local BBY and they will be making appointments for day of launch pre-order fulfillment. So, you could schedule the afternoon pick up and miss the lines, but you can't stroll right in any time you want.
