How did the copy editor let that slip through?

Re: Future reading

Someone got up on the wrong side of the be this morning. It saddens me to think with a book such as A Conference of the Birds you are missing the additional dimensions of enjoyment, design, artisanship, and craftsmanship it has to offer that no ebook will ever be able to offer.

I have also become somewhat disillusioned with my Kindle in several genres. I enthusiastically started replacing many of the technical tomes (out of retirement I teach college computer science) with ebooks, thrilled I could carry hundreds of very heavy texts and references with me at all times. Alas, access to them was much more difficult than anticipated.

Informally, I correlated my students who used only one or the other, physical or ebook, to their grades. To my dismay, the ebook students achieved significantly poorer grades. There may be other factors, which is why I say informally.

eBook software will become much, much better. Ownership of your intellectual property will improve (do you have a audio library), and both forms will continue, side by side.

Re: Kaweco Fireblue Liliput from JetPens is back in stock!

Massdrop held a vote and are currently negotiating with Kaweco for a group buy. What is the actual finish like? Is it smooth like polished steel? Rough? Matte? As a final step is there a glaze put on it, or lacquer? Just curious what it feels like.

Tom

Re: Win this Pilot Stargazer Fountain Pen from FPGeeks and Pilot Pen USA!

When I win the Pilot Star Gazer I will use Pelikan 4001 Violet, of course.

Re: Fountain Pen Comparison: Montblanc 149 vs Sailor King of Pen

No question - the Sailor! Graceful, sleek, understated, many configurations, a superb writer, just a cut above. The 149 reminds me of what Yogi Berra said about a restaurant he used to go to: It used to be real popular, but now everyone goes there. Everybody and his brother has one of those...

Re: 12 Sickeningly Beautiful Springtime Photos of Gambier · Kenyon Blogs

47 years ago it started, but you helped me remember. I will try to get at that when I get home late this
evening.

As to using 1Password, I could no longer imagine using a Mac without it. My
only wish is you would put out a PC version, so I could sync with the six
PCs in my network (home office), running XP, 7, Server 2003 & 2008. As it is
now, when I make an addition in one place, I go to the other platform and
make it so they retain some semblance of being the same, 1Password and
Roboform, that is.

Thanks.

Tom

P.S. I forgot to mention, I keep the keychain on Dropbox. Does that matter?

Re: http://blog.agile.ws/post/495908845

David,

Thank you for your reply. The information you gave me indicates I did not
explain myself well, but now I can pinpoint the problem better for you, with
a screen shot to illustrate.

In your response you pointed me to:

    For iPad: http://help.agile.ws/1Passw...

When I go there, it says in step 4: Click the 1Password for iPad icon under
the Sync section and type in the two codes from step 2

As you can see in the attached PNG, there is no iPad in the sync section.
The iPod Touch is there and has been for a long time, successfully just
sync'ing its little heart out.

And I have been on v.3.1 or the very latest no more than 24 hours after it
became available. I tend to be on the bleeding edge.

Although I am using 1Password Pro, which is in the App store category for
all three devices, I did notice there is a separate entry in the section for
iPad only. Do I need to get that version?

It seems the real problem is that my Mac and iPad do not want to talk. Do
you think so?

Thanks for your help.

Tom Baley

Re: http://blog.agile.ws/post/495908845

I am using 1Password 3.10 (build 30621) and it is very different. I want to synch my iPod Touch and my iPad. I cannot figure out how to get 1Password to even recognize the iPad, though. I tried it with and without Bluetooth (it pairs nicely with the Macbook Pro), but nothing. Also, there is no longer any sync button or option in 1Password and all the icons at the top of the window are missing. What's up?

Re: UAE Tumblr

Taken with iPhone or Nikon?
