I'm torn between the two.

On the one hand I would like to see a translation that is as accurately as possible. On the other hand personal experience with translating interviews had thought me that that the resulting translation would only be one step above babelfish in quality; you end up with incredibly weird sentences.

On the whole, I suppose I would go for trying to stick to the original while slightly adjusting the text where needed in order to make it comprehensible (and sound natural)

I haven't been paying attention either, but it is kinda hard to not know who Lady Gaga is. Whether you like her music or not (or her CLOTHES for that matter) she is all over the place so it is kind of hard to miss.

As someone who has hopes to work in the translation/localization field I find your articles really interesting. I have a question though, you said that the translators job is to translate directly what it said, how much of that do You edit in order to make the final translation?

Personally I find the price a little on the high side as well. I've never bought a (handheld) console on the release date simply because I didn't feel the need to, but with this I'll probably wait for a price cut...

Not as cool to look at might be an understatement. The huge gunswords rank high on the awesome scale, but the world itself feels very barren. Even for an apocalyptic world, I think some more detail would indeed greatly benefit the overall atmosphere.

While Starry Sky indeed has an all star seiyuu cast, the games themself are somewhat cliche. Might not be the best bet to start with.

I think Neoromance games would indeed be a good bet. I've only played Kiniro no Corda myself, but the fact that the games have lots of interactive gameplay is a major plus I think.

Tokimemo would also be a good bet, although the games are so full of Japanese culture that I wonder what they will do to them.
