These articles always assume that everyone buys every paid upgrade that comes out. For most this was not true, they might buy every other paid upgrade if they didn't need some esoteric added feature. Which is why we have subscriptions now.

I don't get the Tidal hate. Paying artists more, providing higher-quality audio to people who want it, why all the ridicule? Everyone who is making fun of pretentious millionaire artists and worthless audio benefits. Sure I don't hear any difference in that Killers track, but in well-recorded stuff like the Eagles and Dixie Chicks examples there was a difference to me. Even on headphones in a crowded office.

Make some 100mm faders and I'm so in. Those tiny faders don't do anything for me. But many composers have been searching for 4-8 large faders to assign to CC 1, 7, 11, etc.

Sure glad I didn't invest in any Universal Audio hardware. I guess I won't buy any hardware at all for a while – anything compatible with my current Mac Pro won't work on the next one and vice versa. And who knows how long Thunderbolt will stick around. Given Apple's history, probably less than five years.

I don't see the distinction between not paying for music, movies or software. All are created by paid professionals for sale to consumers. A film (game, software) costs $5 - $200 million to make. You're arguing that it should be given away. Or maybe you're arguing that there should be a different term for watching for free other than "theft." But you're taking money out of many peoples' back accounts, so it's theft.

I didn't realize I could reuse my tea. I was also told (by an Englishman) that water is meant to be boiling at the moment it hits the tea. He had one of those accents that made him sound like he knew what he was talking about, but perhaps his experience was limited to Earl Grey.

I've been buying Sencha at Whole Foods that comes in little balls. Good stuff, especially when I'm sick.
