with the perspective, the right forearm is too long, and also shaded inaccurately (based on the overhead-and-to-the-left light source). that makes it look flat.

so... it's done in color, and then you black and white it? or, you do it in black and white, and then painstakingly go back over it in color? OR, you have the ability to do two otherwise identical pictures with a black pen and then colored pens???

i think because it's not a question of exposure time, it's just that it take times to switch from one pixel element to another. hence, you get equivalent exposure times from all elements, resulting in a sharp image, but as you twirl the camera, each element captures an image displaced from the originally framed photograph.
