Basically, the Cash equivalent of the lifetime power ups will be considerably cheaper (when compared to how much it would cost with coins) and you'll just have the power up forever, without having to worry about renewing that +1 Speed or whichever you choose.

We considered it, and it's unfortunately a bit of a challenge to pull that off cleanly. If anyone has purchased coins recently and has some of those coins left over, they can email me and maybe I can help a bit. No guarantees, but I'll be happy to try =D

That's not likely. Coins will not be available for purchase anymore, only Cash, and when you buy certain amounts of Cash, you'll get STAR. So we want to keep STAR valuable as well.
