His music is not a joke at all.

Back when I first saw this I was struck by how funny it is that, left to their own devices, in true "rockstar" fashion, Panic at the Disco will ad lib a song about....lunch. I still find that very funny.

"Bacon cheeseburger and you're done!" A definite hit.

Re: We're So Blogging

I think I broke Twitter, lol. Tweets were disappearing faster than I could type them. *sigh* I will never again be so brilliant (that's my story and I'm sticking to it).

I mentioned that my boss went to South Africa the end of last year. He's still raving about it. I hope you guys have a great time there. It is a wonderful thing when fate holds out the entire world for you to see like an enormous gem. You're so lucky. Just enjoy everything you can (and take pictures for the rest of us!).

I hope Twitter gets fixed so we can be in the moment with you, but I suspect that they weren't really prepared for the (literally) millions of people who have gotten into twitter over the last couple of months. When Spencer got a twitter, my first thought was that everyone on the planet with a computer must have one now.

I hope that Brendon and Spencer will consider coming here until the Twitter people get their act together. They're both so funny and clever on there, but they never come here where we can still enjoy their mindless ramblings, only moreso.

Jon and Ryan, please, remember your cameras, lenses and film for this trip. We love your pics.

Looking forward to everything you have to say about your adventures.

Bon Voyage

Peace

Re: We're So Blogging

Not if you share your margaritas.

Re: We're So Blogging

It always takes me forever to figure out there's a new post here. I try not to have those little alerts, because I'd never turn the computer off if I did.

I LOVE this picture. Not just because it's bright and in crisp focus. The colors are beautiful, the composition is lovely. You can almost feel the sea breeze. Even the pelicans. I love how one is staring suspiciously at the camera and the other is pretending it's not there (taking a nap, maybe?).

Okay, to be honest, the clear focus went a long way with me. The fuzzy, grainy, dark, pixelated, I-phone bad pics were beginning to give me a headache. Maybe I'm a little too visual, but I think people should take pictures with intent, like they mean it, like there is something they really want you to see. I got the feeling the bad pics were only taken because you guys just couldn't stop taking them, even if you couldn't take good ones. It was frustrating when I knew you both are really good photographers.

This is more like it. I would frame this picture and put it over my desk at work for those days when I'd rather be anywhere else. This picture sparks interest and imagination. There's a lot to look at, and you can see it all.

I'll bet the margaritas weren't half bad, either.

Peace.

Re: We're So Blogging

It doesn't seem like a year. That's the difference between really GOOD music and popular music to me. Good music reminds you of what you were thinking and feeling and what stage of development you were in at the time the music came out. Popular music reminds you of the stupid ass clothes you wore back then and how bad your job sucked and what the weather was like that winter. Good music is timeless and emotional. Most popular music is just, well, popular at that particular time.

It was a long wait for Pretty. Odd. I had begun to wonder if it would ever actually come out. I remember everyone being so anxious for that first listen at the songs. The mad scramble online to get them. I actually cried the first time I heard "Behind the Sea," I was so fucking proud of you. I must have collected every alternate version of that song I could find and I listened to it over and over until I bought the album. (It's still my favorite on the album, the genius of Northern Downpour notwithstanding).

A lot of attention had been paid to the "style" of Pretty. Odd. without realizing that most truly memorable music is more about the "mood" the music evokes than anything else. Yes, there was a time when music was specifically keyed to respond to good feelings and good times. And yes, Pretty. Odd. does capture exactly that mood. However, it's a unique and current work of art, able to stand on its own without the prop of context.

It wasn't until I'd heard some of Panic's covers that I actually stopped dismissing the band as visually interesting and quirky in a slightly better than teeny sort of way. However, when tour videos and youtubes began to show that Panic really was as band of gifted musicians, I began to hope that Pretty. Odd. would demonstrate their talent and creativity. I was NOT disappointed. I am just as eager for your next album as I was a year ago for Pretty. Odd. I think I'll be a fan a long time.

Thanks.

Oh, and cool Buddha.

Peace.

Re: We're So Blogging

*gigglesnort*

Re: We're So Blogging

I know! I would be more inclined to think it was Ryan if I thought Ryan ever walked around in just a t-shirt. Aren't all his shirts button-down? He hasn't worn a t-shirt since Southeast Asia. Not even on a five mile hike.

Re: We're So Blogging

ikr? Brendon, Spencer, and Jon did the serious drumming. Ryan banged methodically on the biggest drum, but at least he kept time. It was pretty remarkable. There's a Youtube of it somewhere.

Re: We're So Blogging

ikr? Everyone is desperate for a little panic (pardon the pun). Glad to hear music is somewhat on your mind, anyway.

Please go out and buy some more lamps. Use them to lighten up your dark house. All your indoor pictures are dark and creepy. They look like stills from a bad horror flick. it may be camera quality, but just fix it. No more tales from the crypt, please.

I hear the weather is excellent in Buckwild this time of year.

Peace.

Re: We're So Blogging

I like the blue.

Re: We're So Blogging

Now that Musak is bankrupt, we need a new source of crappy music that no one wants to hear. I have a feeling there's going to be lots and lots of it. The slight tongue-in-cheek humor does not make up for the fact that a) it's a pretty dumbass product, b) the developers at Microsoft should probably be rounded up and shot, and c) the creators of that lame commercial are gonna get fired when the product flops.

I strongly suspect that all the songs come out sounding pretty much the same. And if you've ever cringed at most people's lame attempts at poetry, then this thing will probably start really make you sick. Also, even with the "catchy" marketing, it doesn't look that easy to use. American Idol has taught us that a lot of people who can't sing think they can. Microsoft will teach us that a lot of those people who can't sing think they can write songs, too.

I don't think you're quite out of business yet, Ryan. We are going to need somebody to save us from the auditory assault that will result from this stupid program.

Oh, and a day is never wasted if you live it. Daylight Savings Time is a pain until those long summer evenings kick in. It's like a very, very slight case of jet lag. Eventually someone will recognize that we are no longer an agricultural society and do away with it. And why am I up in the middle of the night?

On a related side note: Blog comments are like a sigh of relief after twitter. It takes me three tweets just to get an idea out. It's kinda fun, but annoying at the same time. Um I'll just stop typing now.

Re: GONZO.

Hunter S. My family used to hike up in Marin Recreation Area to look out to sea at sunset. There is something of that same exhilaration to looking far out to sea and watching the sunset where it seems like a million miles away.

But we did have to hike up there. So, I get your point.

Re: We're So Blogging

True, Nunero, so true.

Re: A Homeboy's Life - hero warship: john feldman. id love to hear all of...

I keep telling him that, but he won't change it. That connection was dangling by a thread, y'know? Oh, and 1,000 people started following you on twitter in the time it took me to figure out how to add you. Steep technological learning curve (or maybe just a rather loopy one), but I'm okay now, really. Like I said, I'm the last tweeter (twitterer?) on earth. Putting it on my phone next, but maybe tomorrow....

Re: We're So Blogging

Your most useless, random information is probably 100x better than any serious thing I've ever posted online.
