I agree. Allen Colmes was the liberal side kick of Hnity, and He unknowingly dreagged too many of that hard headed bigoted croud with him. I halfway endure listening to them hoping he will win them over, but Allen by himself is not strong enough. It's a losing battle. I fainally accepted him as a liberal, but he needs to change his format somehow. Get informative people to interact with, and stop fending off stuborn rednecks....And Thom IS the the sharpest tack of the bunch. I pretty much would not try to chamge any body. Their show is their own expression. Period.

John, I realy do appreceiate you taking the trouble to walk some of us into the digital age, but many of us, me included are like Enid. I have gone through 5 or 6 walkman style radios w/ earphones stuck to my head since early Irac War days. Were not opposed to using new gadgits, but they are proliferating, and becoming obsolete faster than we can afford to buy them. In today's economy, retirement can end up being a very small fixed income. But as your hosts have been our lifeline, we will adapt. We are experiencing history in the making. None of us want to be left behind!

Jim Lerer's teeth have been puled or, he has given up.

....Charlie Rose also hits every topic, is inquisitive and curious as any journalist should be, but he is a high flyer, rubbing shoulders with the very elite he interviews. I never miss his shows, as they will be chronicles of our history to look back on. Lately I've noticed he seems to be flattered, and counts himself as an equal with them, enough to be too far from us, to never understand our plight, and establishing a bias. So, I feel he could never convict those at the top with the truth.

Yeah Lane, I agree. Very sensible words. And "blue dog listeners"? Another example of our tendancy on the left of having a circular firing line, because too often we are so short sighted, in how these things affect us, we will forfeit the goals that would benefit us all. These feuds are really trivial, and not worthy of our cause. If you would ask any of our talk show hosts, if they they would support our infighting, they most proably would not. They are have much bigger fish to fry. They are trying to help change the will of a large segment of our society. That is HUGE! And they are not doing it alone. Don't you think they count themselves as being on a team, with many speakers, fighting for the same survival of our nation? Can't you support them, how ever they do it? Or, is what comes through your radio/computer/Ipod in your cubical/home/bus-truck-driving job in the AM slot, to soothe your savage soul, that much more important, than overturning this monstrosity of our comodified culture spawned by BIG CORP who consider us only consumers, and not CITIZENS!!! You have a problem whe Randi, or Ed raise their voice? How about that quote ever body love, "I'm as mad as hell and I can't take it any more". Was that a wisper? Or, was it like. Hi John. A couple of questions.
1. Where is the last blog? Over? Done with? inaccessable? Gonnnnnnne? I had hoped we would resolve that discussion. ....OK.

2. Your open mike sunday 9-11. Some of us a have practice of doing the thing called church at that time. (Yeah, christian lefties. But then Christ was a lefty) When I miss being with my church people I get into trouble.(No, I'm not gonna tell ya)...So, how will we get it? You going to talk about your digital surprise? Hope so, but I know of no one to get it second hand.

3. Is it posible to get a discussion, or a concenses, on how this HDTV digital transition is succeeding Bat Area wide? My budgit doesn't allow for cable, or ATT hard wire TV aceess. I bought a Radio Shack flat screen HD TV for $200.oo, w/ a new high tech small rabit ears antena. I may have to rig a antena 20 ft into the air to get a signal higher than my roof. ...Q#: Is there a significant number of people like me who are suffering through programs that starts ....stutters....then the picture digitally decomposes, or freeze frames for 3 seconds....and then blacks out for 10 seconds intirely. Whole scenes are lost, or conclusions of thoughts unfinished. Some nights I get chs 2,5,9...the I rescan and get 2, 4 9, never 7 or 11, or some other combination. My first thought was "digital" is not ready for prime time. Or, I'm not ready. Maybe it's time to read the books I bought during this last catostrofic eight years of political upheaval. ...Hope what comes of digital radio dosen't mirror this last week's experience.

Randi's show today was confusing. I have never been a fanatic about any celebrity. Since Randi, and many of you are, I'll respect that, sit back and take it in. Knowing ANYTHING about MJ is a misterious puzzle. His MTV era music never caught me up in that fever. I never bought, heard, or spent any time listening, or watching him. My opinions would counter many of yours, so I'll opt out, and wait till some of you blog in, or we understand more.

And I'm sure you have all your own cultural issues that are paramont to you, yet are minor to so many of us. I think it's more of a generational devide than a racial thing, which defines music of your era. I am a Randi fan. I've never been a MJ fan. I got stuck on folk music of the `50's-`60's, and had no use for eighties pop.... When Randi first started this gab you're speaking of, I was confused. I didn't know if it was tongue in cheek, satire, or serious, mainly because I did not share the sentiment, or appreciation of his music, so I didn't listen closely. Yes, I was getting tired of it. Funerals usually attract those of like sentiment in private settings, to greive, and mourn for some one they know intimately. Today with celebrities, this is not the case. ...Today notariety, and press of any kind is a positive excuse for those making money off the dead. ...You can't seperate public feelings of scorn for his scandels, from those who honor him for his music. If they lived for fame in life, it's hard to give them privacy now that their gone. We all have our opinions. Were like the popperotcy, without the camera.

I thought time would give me a some concise thoughts, not totally, but enough to type, and converse with you. ... All of humanity is a really big tent. If any of us also has a religeous perspective that usually tends to to enlarge our own personal tent. As democrats, we usually tend to want to include as many as we possibably can, even more than we can consciously understand or agree with. Why? For so many reasons. Because we believe everyone has a right to develop differently and still be accepted. Yet, we still operate from an accumulated complex system of values gained from our own indevidual lives. ... You gave up a lot of cultural history I was not aware of. Thank you. Where I'll process this bit of information, and where will it reside? I don't know? ... It's already ruminating in my central cortex, and soon will be transported through some nourons to my megdulla omlogotatta, ...Ha Ha ...(please for give me) I don't know the left brain from the right brain. ... He did something wonderfull for you, and your wanting to uplift the acceptance of all black people in any field of endeavor is a good thing. ... Satire is often hidden to those who don't detect it, kind of like the allegories in the Gospells. He did not speak to every one, only those who had the decerning ear. ... And I like your labeling the press "presstitutes". During her trial she was gagged by the court, so I never knew who sued her, or the details. Do you have a linc on that? MSNBC does have some people we like. As I have no cable I can't watch all their line up. ... We may be so controlled, or "caged in" by the little amount of international/national news we get, doled out by those large "corpratists", that our vision has been scaled down to see only the small details, and not the big picture. I can remember when diesel was just a byproduct distillate left over from refining gasoline.

I've been using an OTS Impco L.P.G. conversion unit on a 1972 Ford 3/4 ton p/u that's powered by a 390 cid, for 30 years now. I change the oil every 10,000 mi. & it's just as clean as the day that I put it in, because I only start the engine on LPG. I only change the oil because the lubricity, & additives, eventually shear out mechanically. But being in a gaseous state, the LPG fuel never contaminates the crankcase oil w/ fuel that leaks-by the rings, as gasoline, or diesel does in their liquid state, until the piston rings have fully expanded @ operating temp.

The LPG delivery system is already in place all across the USA, it only needs further expansion.

LPG is still cheaper than gasoline, & you still have the option to use gasoline by simply flipping 2 toggle switches.

Tailpipe emissions of an LPG fueled vehicle are negligible, consisting mostly of H2O w/ some CO2. That's why vehicles that work in confined spaces, like forklifts, are often fueled w/ LPG. LPG condensates are also being added to aviation fuel, to enhance a cleaner burn. The USAF in MT. are using soybeans to distill
aviation fuel for C-130s

We should use the CTG-GTL process to sequester the pollutants out of coal, for fueling electric power plants, & save our abundant sources of natural gas for transportation.
We should also stop selling Alaskan LPG to Japan.
We have @ least 200+ yrs. worth of coal, & the "Overthrust Belt" which contains massive amts. of deep natural gas, runs from Mexico to Canada. We have a lot of gas & oil besides the overthrust belt, but the Bu$h Regime signed legislation that tacks a $4000.00 processing fee onto every new oil & gas drilling permit application in the USA.

China, India, & Argentina/Ford have contracts w/ Impco, the US company that mfgs. LPG conversion units, to convert fleet-vehicles over to dual-fuel capability. It's a very simple
operation, I installed the exchanger, & mixer, & plumbed the hoses from the 80 gal. tank in approx. 3 hours by myself.

Someone has been blowing smoke about the massive amts. of oil, & gas that China & India use. The use peaked & has remained flat for several yrs. now. I have been a steady subscriber to World Oil magazine for the last 25 years, & worked in the oilpatch,
on & around drlg. rigs in several different capacities for the last

This LPG as a motoe fuel is an almost ancient, but proven technology that should be utilized
in the interim, until we further develop nanotube technology, cellulosic digestion of biomass, & lithium-ion battery technology, etcetra, etc..., etc...

Diesel #1 fuels vehicles in the summer, & diesel # 2, which is really kerosine, is used to keep fuel systems from gelling in the frigid Rocky Mtn. winters.

I remember reading that Peterbuilt
has a few new tractors the w/high pressure injection diesel engines.

An outfit in Cornelius N.C. by the name of Onyx Solutions, mfgs. propane fueled lawnmowers.
I've been thinking about converting my 1979 H-D 80" Shovelhead. to propane w/ some old 2 bbl mixers that I have.

Hey, so what,
the multi-national BigOil conglomerates who owe no allegience to this country, took profit during Clinton's admin., as they bought back their stock, & rode the gravytrain. They didn't reinvest back into exploration, & production, but they did merge, & they also bought up the smaller independent companies, & closed down their indepent refineries.

This created a bottleneck in refining capacity, which creates a shortage, which also creates higher prices.

The Saudis offered to fund & build 2 new refineries in the U.S., early into Bu$h's 1st term. Bu$h refused
their offer.

Bu$h has destabalized the only region in the world w/ the excess production capacity to fill any voids in world production.

Right on, & methane is 30 times more efficient as a greenhouse gas than CO2.

The biggest hydrocarbon resource in the world lies on the ocean bottom. It's known as Methane Hydrate, & it surfaces when the ocean gets too warm.
It pops, fizzes, & squeals like dryice when added to H2O, because it is just big methane icecubes.

Many people believe that methane hydrate is what makes the Bermuda Triangle so weird. Water loses the ability to keep boats & ships afloat when the H2O becomes so aereated from the melting methane hydrate,

Aircraft engines also have a tendency
to flood-out & die, in such a methane saturated enviroment.

I'm just sayin'... the oceans are the Earth's heatsink. The Japanese are the only people @ this time, who are still active in pursuing the mining of methane hydrate.

When this stuff outgases into the atmosphere, global warming will increase @ an exponential rate.

Uganda & Congo have increased efforts to improve diplomatic ties in a step to better exploit cross-border mineral resources. Yav Juvenile, Congo's diplomatic attache' to Uganda, said Congo is in the process of upgrading it's mission to ambassadorial level & is working closely w/ the Ugandan Ministry of Energy & Minerals on ways to improve oil exploration & exploitation on it's side of the Abertine rift. In March, the presidents of Uganda & Congo agreed to implement the 2007 Ngorduto agreement, which calls for improved political & economic cooperation between the two countries. Congo is close to granting an oil exploration & production license to UK based Tullow Oil, which already operates on the Ugandan side of the border.

According to a brief statement published on the Chinese central government website, China signed a contract w/ Burma to build an oil & gas pipeline from Kyukpyu Port on the bay of Bengal through Burma to southwest China. The 1,242-mi gas & oil pipeline will run through Ruili, Yunnan Province, & Kunming, Guizhou Province to Chonqing municipality in southwestern China. The line would help China cut out oil cargoes' long detour through the congested Malacca Strait. Chinese state media have reported that the Yunnan Provincial Development & Reform Commission will begin construction on the pipelines in the first half of 2009 as part of of it's $10.55 billion worth of energy projects planned for this year.

Iraq's Parlimentary oil & gas committee is seeking to revoke a gas deal signed by the oil ministry & Shell last year. Both the Shell deal & another contract between Iraq & China National Petroleum Corporation were illegal because they had not been approved by Parliment as required under Iraqi law, said Jabir Khalifa Jabir, Iraqi member of Parliment & secretary for the oil & gas committee. "We are going to do everything we can to revoke this deal & push Shell out." Jabir said. "Both these deals are illegal because they didn't go through Parliment. The companies & their lawyers knew the old Iraqi law very well." Any new deals signed in present bidding rounds would also be subject to revocation, Jabir said.
The Iraqi Oil Ministry has said it does not need Parliment's approval to sign new deals. Jabir said Iraqi law 97 clearly states that new deals must be passed by Parliment. The committee studied the preliminaryShell deal for the past 6 months & all mambers agreed it was illegal Shell signed the agreement last September to capture gas that Iraq wastes through flaring (burning).
