Thank you Alex for the post. My only hope is they come to 3rd World (Canada). Also, are they going to that big continent (Africa) where the MVNO term is almost unknown?

Where is the petition for:
- a by second billing and a ban of by minute billing.
- the eradication of the term "long distance" when talking about the same country or at least the same province.
- sending the whole CRTC team members to Viviane Reding's office in Brussels for a few weeks so she could wake them up.

Crazy and great show again. Really great show...being one of the winners my comment may be biaised but I really enjoyed the show. Well done guys and thanks for the show and the gift.

Very nice show! The best of all podcasts (with video). The good news is the shows keep getting better and better. Can't wait to hear the feedbacks when you're all back to London.

If I could, I would send the MIR feed link to the marketing guys at
B-T-R...(Thanks for feeling sorry for me as I happen to be a "happy canadian mobile user" ...total irony as those words can't go in the same sentence) to wake them up.
Huuumm, I should also put some banners on street light poles to tell canadian customers to visit the web site for trusted mobile industry review.

Great article and I couldn't have imagined Telus and Bell would build a UMTS 3G network alongside their CDMA Ev-Do and considering their more than comfortable position in this market. Thought they'd rather wait until LTE is ready for implementation while still milking their existing infrastructure and position on the market in Canada.

I have one question about Videotron setting up a 3G network. Do they have enough spectrum in the 850/1900/2100MHz bands? I thought they had auctioned for the 1700/2100MHz band.

The reason is 1700/2100MHz WCDMA compatible handsets are all but common on the market and I am wondering weither manufacturers will be willing to market quad-band WCDMA compatible handsets any time soon as the rest of the World is mostly using 850/1900/2100MHz compatible handsets.

I would applaude Telus and Bell setting up UMTS networks and hope the NKOTWB will all go UMTS but until every costumer is allowed to keep/bring its own handset while changing operators I don't see real competition any time soon.
