This “episode” will not be a hindrance for us. In fact, we are challenged by the accusations that are being thrown at us. Others may think why I was the only one speaking for the class (clinchem bloggers). It’s because what I wrote previously already speaks for our voices. There’s no need for every one of us to say what’s on his/her mind about this issue because we are all for one, and one for all. We speak for ourselves not for our professor. Because we know we stand correct and never violated anything. One thing is for sure, “you cannot please everyone”, so better do what is right, and focus on the things that will nurture and develop us into better individuals.

Re: Frequently Asked Questions on the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs 2009 Writing Project

Good evening Ms. Janette, I just would like to share my sentiments about the issue in the EIB voting 2009.

I'm sorry for this very long message, I hope you spend time reading this one.

When I heard it from my professor, I personally read all the comments on a site that obviously targets us (clin chem bloggers), as well as you, the bloggers who won, and now our mentor Jena Isle. I think what they are doing is below the belt. They are accusing us of being spams, robots and the like. They accuse our mentor of using her power over us for us to vote for the Jedi bloggers.

One of their accusations is that our blogs are illegitimate. Are they such? I surfed the internet for the definition of a blog. I found out that a blog can be a personal blog, a business blog, a way of communication with other people, and share information through the internet. Then I think to myself what the purpose of our blogs is. Then I came to a conclusion that our blogs are made for our class to make the topics easier for us to understand, by assigning everyone with a topic, the workload will be less, especially in class discussions where we can't accommodate all the topics that we need to tackle. By posting them in a blog, we can easily access the topics we need to review, saving time and effort in researching because all of our posts are being reviewed by our professor and assures them that they are correct. Therefore, our blogs are real blogs, to share information within our class, and also to the other readers, especially the ones who are in the medical course, primarily medical technology students.

Here is another accusation that we are committing plagiarism, copying from other sites and only pasting them on to our blogs. I personally felt insulted. We put a great effort in our blogs despite of our hectic schedules because of our curriculum. We started our classes last May 11 because we need to finish the first semester in September for us to be able to take our 6 month internship. They even use "copyscape.com" to clarify if we copy pasted, but the list that where presented are only links from our professor and classmates' blogs. So where is the plagiarism in our blogs then? I personally did an animation about my topic, and then they will say we are not authentic?? I spent restless nights just to finish that animation on time. My other classmates spend time and effort as well for their presentation in their respective blogs. Then they will say we are robots? Spams? Splogs? Isn't that ridiculous?

And now, it’s the issue about us voting for the Jedi Bloggers. We vote for the blogs because we liked them. We vote for the blogs not for our professor. We vote for the blogs not for the sake of our grades. We vote for those blogs, because we think they deserve a spot on that top ten list. I personally read each of their blogs to really know if they deserve my vote. Therefore, as far as we're concerned, we didn't violate any rules. So what’s the problem if they were the ones we voted for?

And now, they made another post. It's now focused on our mentor. They say we are forced by our professor to vote for the contest, but the truth is, we voluntarily voted. Is there a problem if the whole class did that? Another thing that they say is, why is our domain url numbered? Of course, we are a class, cc3 stands for clinical chemistry 3, and we were arranged in a determined manner. They also pointed out the use of blogs as a teaching method. What's their basis of their judgment that the use of blog has no relevance with clinical chemistry? Is there a rule that we can't use other methods in teaching? What's the problem in using blogs? In my opinion, I see no reason not to use this kind of method. Clinical chemistry is not all about laboratory and technical skills. We also need knowledge coming from the present knowledge that our professor teaches us. The use of blog serves as a tool not only for research, but also for composition or presentation of gathered knowledge in our very own way. It is beneficial not only in developing our researching skills, but also our writing skills that we can use in the near future.

That's all I guess. Sorry again for this long message. Thank you very much.

Re: Entries Masterlist: The Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs in 2009

Hello Ms Janette, ask ko lang po kung nainclude nyo po ba yung post ko, wala pa po kasi sa list, kung may kulang po na dapat idagdag, pakisabi na lang po, para magawan ko po agad ng paraan, thanks...

Re: Entries Masterlist: The Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs in 2009

Hello Ms. Janette,

I updated my sponsors list...

here it is: http://eugenecc3.blogspot.c...

Re: Join the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009 Writing Project

Hello Ms. Janette,

I updated my sponsors list...

here it is: http://eugenecc3.blogspot.c...

Re: Join the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2009 Writing Project

Here are my nominations for the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs:

http://eugenecc3.blogspot.c...
