Re-branding columbian coffee around something more approachable and relatable, and especially around women, could help differentiate the brand.

As a thought experiment: What if you embraced the stigma? Instead of fighting the entrenched view of lawlessness or corruption in Columbia, what if you built a brand that emphasized it even more? That romanticized it? What would that look like?

Or what if you build a brand that poked fun at those existing characters, or put them into completely absurd contexts to take away their power?

Re: After reading"What is Amazon's approach to product... - Eli

Totally agree!

On the flip side, I think the press release approach also keeps you from falling short in realizing the full promise of what you're building.

Often when you're making something, certain things are difficult to implement and you're tempted to drop them. Sometimes this is in favor of new features (feature creep) sometimes they're just things that don't seem to matter in the moment. Working backwards from a PR helps prevent features creep AND feature loss!

Re: Multiple Tigers

Video download is missing.

Re: 10 Photo Projects and Products Sure to Make Your Mom Smile This Mother’s Day

Your photo for the QX100 is stolen from Photojojo's website without credit, and the link sends people to Amazon instead.

http://photojojo.com/store/...

(I already emailed in via the contact form but got no reply.)

Re: Amazing Bernal Hill Selfie Reminds Us How Small We Really Are

Thanks for the link!

There's a higher-res version here: https://vimeo.com/91898486

Re: Where NY Tech’s Culture Comes From (and why we owe Amit Gupta our bone marrow)

Thanks for your kind words, Nate. They have a pool of 16,000 donors so far, and have resources to help people plan donor drives in cities across India.

See http://datriworld.org/ for the contact addresses and let me know how you fare and if I can help! We want to find ways to support drives in India from abroad if we can.

Amit

p.s. Those in other countries, http://amitguptaneedsyou.com/ now has links to bone arrow registries worldwide. (As well as resources for those in the USA.)

Re: http://vanishsego.tumblr.com/post/11183983857

I get what you're saying.

It's true that while I've been lying in this hospital bed in CT miles from my friends in NYC and CA, they've been able to use their resources, and my name recognition, to spread news of my condition pretty far in a few days. Many of those friendships came of spending years helping people, putting on events to grow the tech community in NYC in which I used to reside, and in general trying to give back.

But while I agree that someone who hadn't spent the time to build those connections would have a tougher time rallying support, I also know that the work we're doing now is gonna help everyone. I think we can significantly increase the number of South Asians in the registry, and that means that even if I don't find a match, it'll be easier for someone else when they need one in the future.

Thanks for getting swabbed!

Re: http://laurafitch.tumblr.com/post/7067155711

Ouch :(

Re: http://www.stoweboyd.com/post/7060517454

Thanks!
