But I do think the more invested people are the more chances a tool with have to get it right. Twitter has (I believe) over 3 million users on board, with a growing number of add-ons that are really catching on. With that said, it's still early on for them and 3M is a far cry from Facebook/LinkedIn numbers. So if this data loss issue becomes big enough that news of it hits the mainstream before they commit to using, it could snuff it out. Twitter needs to look at how Salesforce.com handled their outage issues. It could stopped them in their tracks if they hadn't addressed it head on.

Re: Social CRM in Pictures....and Words

Yes sir. I have to agree with you. And the influence comes after the content consumer engages the content creator into a conversation of some kind. Then if those conversations are ongoing long enough, an influential relationship could definitely form. But it's gotta start somewhere. More and more it starts with a search for content, or from guidance coming from your online social network folks.

Re: Twitter - A Tragic Case of FRM: Follower Relationship Mis-management

Hi Meryl,

CRM is certainly not about being perfect. If that were the case it would have been dead a long time ago. But Twitter has had a few missteps lately. And some of the more vocal critics are the ones driving the interest in the early adopter crowd. So Twitter has to make sure they deal with this in a way that lets people know they are serious about getting past the potholes.

I think most people understand that things happen, especially for something that is growing in popularity at such a fast pace. And there are a number of people who are already "addicted" to Twitter and can't imagine walking away at this point. But it's up to Twitter to keep it going, and solidify their platform so we can feel confident that we see more tweets and less of that whale.

Re: Ginger Conlon, Twitter and Social CRM - There's No Going Back Now!

Cool! And prettier interfaces, and prettier interfaces on pretty mobile devices, increase user adoption for crm which makes it more successful.

And while there are some hidden costs in SaaS, the reduction in up front investment in costs and time SaaS permits makes crm possible in small businesses. The fact that Zoho allows the three first users in a company to use their CRM service for free gives small business users the opportunity to really give a serious look to what benefits can be gained from implementing CRM. And there are so many CRM providers offering affordable, easy to use solutions that CRM is truly within reach of the smallest of companies. I think that's the real story.

Re: Social CRM - The Video

Thanks so much for the kind words Pamela.
