Here's one for you Sen-elect: The Federal Tennessee Valley Authority which Alabama greatly benefits from with low-cost hydro electric power since the late 1930s. Why don't you and the rest of the Red State socialists set yourselves free from this cursed Federal/socialist program, privatize it and pay market rates.

So now we have an op-ed about this with only 48 hours to go. You would think that the DNC has been infiltrated by Republicon operatives assigned to prevent any open discussion about this or develop an ad campaign that would demolish Trump on the tax issue. So instead we have Trump ads lying about Biden's plan on the air 24X7 and nothing but silence from Biden on this. I often wonder if Biden and the DNC actually want to win this election.

Yet for all the strum und drang by analysts like Auerbeck predicting the end of the EU and the euro all you have to do is check the daily FX rates euro vs. US dollar. They haven't been at parity since 2002 and in 2008 the euro was as high as $1.60 and even now trades at $1.17 and the trend is a weaker dollar vs a stronger euro. Look for $1.25 over the next few weeks. Ask yourself why when you read articles like this. Put away all your armchair History Channel education about WWII Europe and look what's happening in the 21st Century. This time EU is making all the right moves.

Rasmussen is a Republican leaning outfit. They don't disclose any profile of the respondents. Sounds like they're asking lots of Republicans. If you ask more Republicans, then Trump is definitely in trouble with these results.

Because we have a winner take all voting system. If we had proportional voting we would have multiple parties, perhaps a less "stable" government than now, but we all would have some party to call home, the one we would not consider "evil."

Why isn't the movie "Where's My Roy Cohn?" referenced at all? This came out a year ago and said essentially the same things about Cohn. It's an operating manual for understanding Trump.

Excellent post. I agree with your feelings about the movie and the characters. Far from glorifying the "Lost Cause" the movie (I have not read the book) depicts arrogant plantation owners and their offspring naively, eagerly ready to march themselves off to war in the same way they each try to win Scarlett's hand. The result is complete and utter catastrophe and starvation and the movie doesn't pull any punches as to who was ultimately to blame for the result.

Yes, and that's exactly the point of the movie (I haven't read the book) Scarlett is a self-centered narcissist who probably wouldn't have survived had she not been under Hattie's tutelage growing up. After the war, Hattie acts as an administrative assistant of sorts to Scarlett who can't get past herself devising one destructive scheme after another.

The backdrop is of course plantation life, but the movie shows isn't glorification of it, but shows the fools the arrogant plantation owners are in going for war, even Rhett's anti-war lecture to them assembled at Twelve Oaks, gives them only a momentary pause. Naively, they fall over themselves trying to win Scarlett's hand and just as naively march off to war and the utter catastrophe of defeat and starvation.
I don't see the glorification in any of that.

I’ll never forget the look on Karl Rove’s face on Election night in 2012 when Fox News called Ohio for Obama. An embarrassed smirk as if to say “someone in Ken Blackwell’s office didn’t rig enough Debolt machines.” He was being interviewed by Meagan Kelly. To prove it she then walked down the hallway to the Fox Election desk and there the analysts explained why Romney would not carry a Ohio.
Oh that we will see a similar scene this year!

launch a new campaign strategy that would make the libs head spin. So here you have it. Rumors of attack that would make HG Wells' War of the Worlds head spin. Notice these rumors started in many parts of the US all in same day. So when the non-existent antifa didn't show up, they claimed "victory." Clever, huh? Is your head spinning?
