It's been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I love literature and writing now and I trace all of my love for words back to this book. I wanted to read since age four and memorized the children's book and used to read it to my cat and parents and sister (only when she couldn't sleep at night).

I'm planning on going to see it at least 2 or 3 times and I was a little depressed to see bad reviews for it. But it's good to know someone enjoyed it. I just need to drag a few people to a cheap matinee (spelling?) so I can actually see it.

Re: The William Beckett - FRIDAY FILM TALK

It was my beginning as a reader and everything. I think this book is like a lot of things in childohood. You don't identify with it unless you actually read it.

Re: The William Beckett - FRIDAY FILM TALK

It seems really cool. I found it at a bookstore and it was literally sealed and tucked away in the bottom shelf and after getting so close to buying it three times in the past week I finally looked it up online to make sure it wasn't just an interpretation or like a journal. But yeah, it's basically a drawn out version of the story where Max is being ignored and looked down upon by his older sister and mother and he ends up putting on his wolf suit and physically biting his mother and then going for a walk and finding the boat to the island of the Wild Things.

I personally am beyond excited for it. I cannot wait to get a copy. It's going to be incredible I'm assuming.

Re: The William Beckett - SATURDAY NIGHT MUSIC CLUB #44

Taking Back Sunday...

I am getting into TBS. I'm going ot see them with the All-american Rejects I think and I've always been a small fan of the songs I knew. But weirdly enough I've been rocking them all weekend. I am on a Jesse Lacey kick and was on the internet looking up Brand New business when I stumbled upon the "Seventy times 7" story again and listened to "There's no "I" in Team" Such a good band though :)

I was watching the Best of Steven's Untitled Rock Show and saw a couple bnads I always wanted to listen to but never were inspire to. So it's basically all I'm listening to for weeks. Downloaded so much good music yesterday.

People should look up:
Straylight Run
Strike Anywhere
Cage the Elephant
Monsters of Folk

But Bill... dude you could have Saddle-Creeked this SNMC? *sigh* next week I want something Saddle Creek please. Haha.

Anyone digging Conor Oberst's new stuff like Monsters of Folk and his stuff with the Mystic Valley Band?
I geeked out when I saw he was working with M. Ward. I want to see some more Jenny Lewis and Conor collabs though.

Song Recommendation:
"Handle With Care" Jenny Lewis feat. Conor Oberst, Ben Gibbard, and M.Ward.

Re: The William Beckett - SATURDAY NIGHT MUSIC CLUB #43

Please.

Re: The William Beckett - SATURDAY NIGHT MUSIC CLUB #42
Something Corporate...

YES! I love Something Corporate.. and Andrew. I've been rocking "Punk Rock Princess" for so long. It was one of those songs I never get sick of and opened me up to this great world of music. And "Dark Blue" too, but I always love anything he puts out. I was anticipating something like this. A TAI-Andrew collaboration, but a tour has to be in the works somehow :)

I think- even thought 50% of every academy fangirl is crazy and creepy about you boys- we all respect you.

It's times like this when I really hate how open the fan-musician relationship is. Parents always get shocked when I start talking about meeting a band and how they never met their favorite band when they were younger. We can know every detail about members of our favorite bands- and believe me I know I have this quality too. But it's like bill always says- it's a double-edged sword. I'm a hypocrite because I've met so many people in bands and I know things I shouldn't about their personal lives.

There's no going back now though for musicians or for fans. We are what we are now and our relationships are established. I don't think there's any changing in this anymore that isn't going forward.

Re: The William Beckett - I’m sure most of you have seen this cover already,...

I love this. I'm just getting into photogrpahy now and I'm in love with your sister's work. She is probably one of my favorites- after Tom Conrad. But I love the feel of this cover. I can't wait until I get it :) The new song is spectacular.

You've mentioned there was a song off of this EP (or one that you wrote recently) that gives you chills, I was wondering which one?

Re: The William Beckett - SATURDAY NIGHT MUSIC CLUB #41

To me this song is very nostalgic sounding- I'll have to dig out the lyrics but I love the movement of it. I love this. Thank you, you're such a beautiful person, everyone blogs about their lives and what they eat for breakfast and how awful it is to be them. This is so refreshing. AUSSIE EDITION.
...

There are pros and cons for me with both of these choices.
With the future you could see advances in technology and the changes in this world. You can see if we as humans have managed to limit war to smaller amounts and see if we have managed to evolve while still keeping nature and the elements on our side. HowEver: we may evolve into even more self-centered technologically embracing people. We mat lose the importance of personality and personal relationships. Technology may be our only will and spine.

With traveling to the past you can see how the human race is progressing or crumbling. But with this you can't do anything to change something because everything is just a ripple effect off of an action. You will have to see suffering and know you can do nothing. If you travel back into your past you have to witness your regrets over and over again.

So personally if I HAD to chose I'd chose traveling to the future, because at least with that you have a chance of making some change instead of traveling to the past and just seeing the same events roll out and lead to suffering and fate.

Re: The William Beckett - SATURDAY NIGHT MUSIC CLUB #37
