I have found 48 of his geocaches and have been amazed at his creativity. He burst on to the caching scene with gifts of origami cranes in each found cache. Then, as he began to place caches, he taught us simple (and sometimes not-so-simple) origami of our own. Of particular note is his vampire series, which takes cachers to blood banks, manufacturers of holy water, haunted houses and many other similar places on their way to a cave filled with real bats. I have had the privilege of caching alongside him a few times and admire his great attitude and commitment to his family. Even though I now live thousands of miles away, I still hold him in high regard.

Re: Floating Markets in Thailand

First post!

Re: GeoTours Deliver More Fun With Favorites

The most favorited cache within 800 miles of me has 6 favorite points.

Re: GeoTours Deliver More Fun With Favorites

The closest GeoTour to me is in New Caledonia, a mere 6,000 miles away.

Re: Three Cheers for January’s Geocacher of the Month Nominees

I vote for Timpat.

Re: It’s the Same Old Story: Romancing the Geocacher

What? I've appreciated his efforts with putting together Geocaching classes. And he's always so attentive to maintaining caches. I remember phoning him about a missing cache container. He said, "Stay there. I'll be right there." Within 15 minutes, he was on the scene with a new container, letting me sign the log before he replaced ti.

Re: Help Name the Next Geocacher of the Month

Definitely a vote for barondriver. The point is that geocaching guidelines say, "Cache listings perceived as commercial will not be published. A commercial cache listing has one or more of the following characteristics: 2. It suggests or requires that the finder go inside a business, interact with employees and/or purchase a product or service." I think a day fee for a private club falls well within the bounds of purchasing a service.

Re: Don’t let the cold keep you in! — Geta Hamn (GC2WH0F) — Geocache of the Week Winter Inspiration Edition

This does not seem like a catch 22.
