i wasn't sold on that renovation anyway.. mies is an icon.. it didnt seem to respect that or the fact that not all public spaces should be monetized (retail?) - maybe only a few modernists and hobos hang out there now.. but we deserve a few public spaces too...

I don't think most folks understand the enormity of the Bureaucracy that is our extremely hard to navigate immigration process ... also I know some kids that got busted skinny dipping (on their honeymoon) and despite the wedding & having exited & returned to US incident free a few weeks before- one was deported after a lengthy "detention"... it was/is a nightmare ...
I realllllly reallllly hope that it works out for JP

I had a friend in NC that moved a "free to good owner" house... it worked out wonderfully... i think she had to threaten to sue a utility comp. to lift the power/phone lines out of her way in a few places... but that was the only real "headache" ... I hope someone will think seriously about it!

nope...not there yet...DC is notorious for the number of folks for whom "acting like they are more important than other folks" is a job...its what they do for a living...so i don't see it going away (at least here) for a long time...maybe with a few of the hippie kids but no...not yet... backlash hasn't whipped its way down here yet... :-)
