You're dead right. Even though the Tea-baggers are nuts - the FIRST thing Obama did was to start selling out the Liberal base: The "bailout" was a giant cover-up (Rolling Stone 4 or 5 weeks ago). The Health Care bill is, like the Medicaid bill, a giant giveaway to the insurance industry. Single-payer advocates weren't even allowed in the discussion. Fewer FOIA requests have been approved under Obama than under Bush. No financial reform worth the name is even being attempted. Salazar has signed off on the Great Wolf Slaughter. Eliot Spitzer was "investigated", "outed" and driven from office for investigating the financial fraud in NY State - and the NY Fed's collusion in the Wall St Swindle under the watchful eye of - Tim Geithner! Six democratic governors have been driven from office by a criminal conspiracy directed by Karl Rove - and that includes Blagojevich, who was "investigated" by the same criminalized Justice Dept that was used by Rove to send Gov Don Siegleman to prison, and force Bill Richardson to withdraw his cabinet nomination. 1800 black Americans were drowned in order to destroy the black voting base in New Orleans - and THAT crime (criminal manslaughter) was compounded by using the blame-game to catapult Bobby Jindahl into the Louisiana Statehouse. And Karl Rove hasn't even been forced to appear under subpoena before congress to answer questions! And now - the coasts - including the North Shore - have been opened up for drilling! I am a Liberal/Radical/Environmentalist - and I'm STUNNED by the limp powerlessness of the Democratic Party - and that fact that crypto-republicans like Nelson, Bayh ( a proven bribe-taker), and Blanche Lincoln have been allowed to control the entire congressional agenda. If 3 fifths of the people who voted for either Gore or Kerry would call their reps & sens once a week - things would change fast. But they can't be bothered. If we all pulled our money out of the commercial banks and put it in local credit unions and banks - things would change even faster. There's TWO simple and direct ways to make the system work. Campaigning for candidates or hoping that congress will do ANYTHING of substance is just continuing to play the victim. Pull your G.D. money out of the banks owned by the swindlers, pay off your credit cards - and call your congress people EVERY week and DEMAND that they pass REAL REFORMS - NOW. If you voted for Kerry (another 55 million) stay home from work for at least 2 weeks. After the SCOTUS TREASON - stay home from work for at least 2 weeks.
