I have just received a letter from the Red Cross Blood Bank informing me that the Griffith service is closing down due to lack of funds to build a new clinic because they need to relocate from their present position in the Griffith Base Hospital. This is appalling.
When I donated blood I frequently had to book months in advance due to the lack of available appointment times yet the letter said that blood donations had dropped in recent years. I can not see how that could be true. It was always busy when I was there. The letter also stated it would be implementing a mobile service but the service would not offer the same amount of time.
At a time where there is a greater need for blood donations, this is ludicrous. We should be making it easier to donate blood not more difficult.
We need to find a new home for the blood clinic urgently.

I have noticed that books from OS are often printed on poorer quality paper, have poorer bindings and the cover designs are not as high quality as our Australian covers, not to mention changes in Vocabulary eg. Harry Potter and the "Sorcerers" stone!!!
I would rather pay a slightly higher price to retain our quality and individuality.
