I don't know if it's that they're the most talented, or just that they are the most passionate and inspired to create. It's really a shame, because they tend to not live as long as the rest of us. But maybe in a way that's a good thing? I mean if they're in relentless mental anguish, who am I to presume they should live that way until they're 80? Judge their life by my standards. Do you know what I mean?...

Substance addiction, like so many other destructive coping mechanisms, is such a tough demon to get rid of once wheedles its way into ones life; it lasts forever and effects all relationships...

Did you all know him personally?

Re: BABY GRAND

Isn't this place hard as a mother for "regular people" to get into? A women should be seen as motherly, but also tough (hockey mom-pitt bull); feminine and attractive, but not overly so (glasses and hair pulled back); intelligent, but also very much in touch with her emotions (quotes other 'influential' thinkers and describes how things make her feel).

A man wouldn't have to consider these things. Female roles in society are so varied, I can understand where the dichotomy is derived from, but it is seriously ridiculous. I guess putting a man in a role viewed formerly as belonging to a woman would be hard too -he would probably have his sexuality questioned. At the same time, if that wasn't too important, he wouldn't have much of a problem now would he? Sighhhh.

Re: The Curious Case of... - Journalists check out “The Ledge,” a new addition...

In all seriousness, I would probably be shaky. Heights aren't my forte. Sidenote, Tyra Banks belittled people with a fear of flying today on a Jerry Springer-esque edition of her talk show. Just cuz not all of us have been everywhere and on private jets zillions of times, doesn't mean we can't be uncomfortable with the idea of being thousands of feet up in the air trusting our lives to some random person. Humph!

Re: The Curious Case of... - gingers are “taking over the world…” rrrriiight.

Not saying I'm not a little eccentric sometimes, but if you pay attention to the media -mostly TV- you'll see that we are used to fill the roles of peculiar people. This is yet another example. I think maybe we stick out more and people catch us in the act of doing something strange whereas others may not get caught. You get what I'm saying? Oh well, just a peril of being a little different I s'pose.

Re: BABY GRAND

Ok.

Re: BABY GRAND

Hahahahahaha. And yet not at all.

I know this is going to sounds absolutely absurd, but it reminds me of having a crazy party with all my friends in an expensive restaurant [lots o cocktails] in a room with a massive saltwater aquarium taking up a whole 'wall', that is located near the top of a sky scraper [the restaurant that is], with a killer view of the city. A blur of a wonderful night.

Maybe I'll write a short story about it... Did it come into contact with too many different substances on tour? Poor thing. Mines just the opposite, totally straightedge, but malfunctioning nonetheless. I know that sounds weird, but he certainly wasn't overweight, and you just don't see too many apparently healthy people drop dead of heart attacks... I heard he was getting back in shape for a new tour, maybe he jumped into things too quickly? :(

Maybe good for Ferrah's family though, less public scrutiny on her...

Re: BABY GRAND

Holy mother this is one long ass post. To be honest I got bored and didn't read the whole thing (lol) but I get the gist. Idk, I think this thought is akin to many that have been stated ever since people started thinking about creation and existence. Don't get me wrong, I'm a firm supporter of science and technology, but there has to be a little realism. I do think the statement that "man makes himself in the image of god" is interesting, and if it is accurate, then why not, when that end is completed, can people not become gods in at least some sense? Heresy, I know, but, I wouldn't expect that to happen for a loooooooong time. Like after there is world peace, illness and disease are eliminated, the masses are able to find contentment, etc. Unfortunately, it seems more likely that we will either kill ourselves by accident or on purpose, or else be killed by some annoying natural (biological? geological? meteorological?) means. Plus, if the virtual reality is our reality made by our future selves, what real benefits are going to come from it? I mean, it would seem to give life less meaning. I exist only as the entertainment for something supposedly superior to me? Why would I be entertaining? Peoples misery and depressing lives are amusing? What horribly sadistic creators they would be. And to what end? If they were so comprehending, they should just accept things as they are, and not need mind-numbing entertainment, right?

I just popped this virtual cherry in a big way. Over and out.
