I make this with a can of Mexican spiced tomatoes. I also add a roasted poblano chile and let it sit overnight in the fridge. Very good salsa. Thank you.

Yes, he's said he's quit before. Then taken back to the habit. Ask ANYONE who has smoked habitually for years and they'll tell you that it's typically not an easy process. Shit, it wasn't for me and i only smoked for less than two years! He could have full well believed he had kicked the habit at multiple points in his past, only to then find himself back to needing just that one last cigarette.

On the flipside, if this is the only bullcrap you can find to bitch about then it's a good day. (and by you I mean the collective anti-obama you :) )

The fact that he is quitting is in and of itself a good role model. He's not glamorizing smoking for all the little kids, and he is very very careful to not let himself be seen smoking - partly I believe due to politics, but partly because he would rather NOT those impressionable people out there see it.

Perhaps I'm giving him too much credit, and perhaps you aren't giving him enough.

Going from a habitual user to having a random cigarette is very damn good, but let's go ahead and knock him for it. Shame on him for not being able to quit 100% yet! Impeach him, he sat there and lied to Brokaw!

I smoked in high school, and quit when i got to college, but every now and then I still had a cigarette through college. I still consider myself having quit it.

And he is a healthy president, so was Bush, not sure how that is in any way a slap down. He's going through what many people are trying to do, and he's, IMO, being a good role model about it - it's a long process, but it has soooo many benefits.

While transparency is needed, there is also a need for some sort of privacy with regards to the businesses so that one company doesn't gain a competitive advantage over the other

I'm pretty sure you are over exaggerating. Even the most die-hard Bush supporters I know see his flaws. Same can be said with all of the Obama supporters I know.

Simply because we believe him to be the best man for the job, doesn't mean that we think he's God Incarnate, despite what the radical right would have anyone believe.

His stance of not putting restrictions on it - yeah, he's more extreme than most in Congress. I can argue the McCain/Palin ticket is pretty much the same going in the other direction (McCain is decidedly anti-choice despite what others may have wanted to believe, and Palin having no exemptions in any situation makes her not in-line with most of the populace)

I'm not sure what bill you specifically are mentioning, but I believe it to be the one about fetuses that survived the abortion, or something similar, out of Illinois? correct? From my reading on it, his viewpoint on why he voted against it made sense to me, guess I don't know why they don't hold any water.

Again, I'm pro-choice and I don't make any apologies for it. (That whole "pro-abortion" thing is just a ploy from the right to make it sound like we celebrate abortions. Pretty underhanded tactic, me thinks)

Perhaps I need to start a blog that points out everything McCain has said or done that is inconsistent, wrong, hypocritical... you know, just to even out your anti-obama rag here and bring back fung-shui to the intertubes.

So let's focus on one word choice - i mean seriously, everyone has used a word that they wish they could go back and change, right? we're human, we all make mistakes. it's a little bit much to go out and say that Obama has to be perfect in everything he has said or will say. Right? An off-the-cuff remark made once and backtracked on later is not something of significant importance.

now you can disagree with his pro-choice stance, fine. but to blow out of the water a poor word choice seems a stretch, to me.

Let's turn it around and say "If my daughter gets raped, I don't want her punished by forcing her to carry to term a baby that she does not want"

I'm all for limits on abortion - but not the right to take it away entirely. I don't want people resorting to clothes hangers (did that actually happen?). I don't think that a woman who is raped should have to have the baby so she can give it up for adoption - why make her live with that for 9 months? I don't think people should abuse the system - is there really a need for a person to have more than 1, ok maybe 2, abortions in their entire life?

But at the end of the day - I want that woman (and hopefully man) to be able to decide for themselves which option is correct for them: child, adoption, abortion. Preferably in that order.

tax brackets already say "hey, you made more, now give me more" - well, the intent behind them is that. Even McCain has said that when you get to a comfortable level, you should give more. I don't think any radical change is going to come around due to either administration, despite what repubs would have one believe.
