There's no reason for the sites to go offline, unless Rafe stops paying the server bill. I'm sure you've got a good year at least, and even after that, there's the Web Archive etc.

Yes, this works well (via Google Voice Typing, on a hotkey in SwiftKey), but a) I wrote most of this in a noisy Wetherspoons pub, and b) it's a little bit of a pain having to switch between keyboard and voice as you have to acknowledge the change with a dialog each and every time.

1) Why not Word itself, built-in? It's intelligent in hiding most of its UI etc when working.
2) SwiftKey effectively does. Tap and hold on the spacebar to activate and drag the cursor/insertion point around.
3) Probably loads. That's a generic Android apps/OS question. Google is your friend. Though with a hardware keyboard you don't really NEED auto-correct, I contend. That would get in the way of detailed typing.

Two years with use, or without? I'm very conscious with all my power banks that they need both exercise and not to be left with either full charge low charge for long periods.

The thought had occurred to me - but with most systems we're looking at a minimum of 500 full charge cycles, so unless we genuinely do get World War III then I think this Jackery will manage many years of camping/emergencies. 8-)

A phone yes, but in my use case here, try charging a laptop, a phone, and a tablet, say, from scratch, from a full car battery, and I’ll bet you’re starting to get worried about getting the car going again. It’s why campers usually have deep cycle ‘leisure batteries’.

Trouble is, you need to keep the car battery charged to an extent, for emergency travel etc.

Ha. In this case, the 'BOFH' is also the site owner and working hard at a real job. But yes, Rafe needs to look at the code and in the meantime I'll store up content ready to go live when things are fixed.

Motorola are still with us and issuing far too many phone models IMHO. OK, so they're owned by a different parent company these days, but there's still some of the old Moto in the current line-up.

Because ultra-wide images are always distorted to a degree. They never look... right. I've been sorting through some u-w images recently, trying to find a garden shot that shows everything - and they all have exagerated foregrounds and small backgrounds, however much is in frame.
