The custom signatures still work, but the image isn't displayed. (The image's alt-text is displayed in a box with a question mark.)

I went through all the steps again, just to be sure, and I think I tweaked everything correctly, but the image doesn't appear.

The image file is stored on my personal WordPress site: http://academicvc.com/wp-co...

Can you see any reason why Mail wouldn't load that into a signature?

Thanks!

Re: How to Make an HTML Signature in Apple Mail for macOS Catalina 10.15

This is exactly what I needed; thank you.

My hidden .mailsignature file didn't include a BODY tag, so I just deleted and replaced everything after "Mime-Version: 1.0 (Mac OS X Mail 13.4 \(3608.80.23.2.2\))". Do you foresee any issues?

Also, the text parts of the signature remain editable in the Mail Preferences > Signature window... is that safe, or should I go through the whole TextEdit procedure again to make minor changes?

THANKS!

Re: Slavery and Freedom

Irrelevant to this particular article (of which I approve) — is anyone at PJMedia responsible for site accessibility? Businesses, restaurants, and residences have sprouted in the last ten years. Some of them want access to Georgia Tech faculty, students, and laboratories; some are just taking advantage of the "creative class" community anchored by Georgia Tech. It's a great demonstration of the value of public-private partnerships, and the impact that a major urban university can have on the surrounding fabric of the city.

Re: Allen Nance’s Breath of Fresh Air

In my world, wearing my "Not the Valley" button is an effective tool, because I am always (daily) coming into contact with people from outside the ecosystem. Politicians, visitors from other cities and countries, counterparts from other universities, big corporate players who don't know what's going on here and who still think RTP is a role model for us... In other words, people who don't read Allen Nance's blog. Some of the visitors have active government programs to "become the next Silicon Valley" and the ones that don't often wish that they did.

By providing a bit of cognitive dissonance, handing them a "Not the Valley" button makes them reexamine their unconscious assumptions, and it gives me a chance to talk about all the strengths that Atlanta has without needing to compare ourselves to Silicon Valley/the Bay Area.

If you're not doing that kind of outreach on a daily basis, the button isn't nearly as effective. We absolutely don't need a new brand for Atlanta (although the idea comes up every few years.) Our brand is "Atlanta." If people want to wear a different button, I suggest grabbing one of the "I am ATL" buttons like this one that Jen Bonnett is wearing:

https://twitter.com/jen_bon...

You can get more at http://www.iamatl.net/

Re: “No Valley” and “Startups for Grownups”

Just wanted to say thanks for the kind words, and for spreading the word!

Re: How I became an Apple Fanboy…and why I might not be one soon

I think you big-phone people are nuts. Your privilege, of course. That's what makes markets. But it looks like you're holding an iPad mini to your head. Better for me: iPhone 4S as phone/camera/constant companion, and an iPad mini for when I need the additional screen size.

Re: How One Faulty Nitrogen-Purge Valve Forced SpaceX to Abort

And, of course, that post-ignition auto-abort was only possible because Falcon uses liquid fuels. The one-second launch window was a management decision to maximize fuel at station, NOT a requirement of orbital ballistics. No telling how many handstands and pirouettes Dragon will be required to perform before being allowed to dock, and they want to have max fuel available for them.

Re: How One Faulty Nitrogen-Purge Valve Forced SpaceX to Abort

Nitpick: You mean Columbia, not Discovery.

Re: The Video of the Failed Space Shuttle Launch is Really Awkward - Business - The Atlantic Wire

Sigh. We cut the cord in October. And we were premium-channel, high-def, multi-room subscribers paying $160/month to Comcast. AppleTV and Netflix provide us more than enough content to fill our screens. So we watch an episode of a show a day -- or a week -- late? Who cares?

Re: Spotlight on ISS: Atlanta’s Security Cluster

Great map! Adding multiple accounts hung it up, so I'm living with a single Twitter account entered at this point. Got hung up several times switching from combined view to multi-column view; had to Force Quit each time. Then it seemed to run normally, but never fetched any new tweets, even when manually refreshed. So I quit and relaunched again, and now it SEEMS to be working correctly.

But my confidence level at this point is pretty low.

Re: Nambupocolypse Averted

New version still won't load on my Mac.
