On my soapbox: Moderation and big brother crap stinks but as long as some individuals choose to speak out like children than they should be expected to treated as such. Hopefully whatever changes John and David have in store will be a compromise that continues to allow the free exchange of ideas, without the middle school name calling that so many threads seem to end with.

If there is a topic you want to discuss than just ask for a 'CQ' post so that a topic can have its own thread instead of piggy-backing on unrelated posts.

In the mean time, Chattarati is still (in my opinion) the best Chatta-eccentric site available.

I love that Matt's original editorial skips over the reason the Robin Smith has such name recognition. At least Fleischmann and gobble receive some experience points. It was under Smith's watch that the Tennessee GOP distributed some of the most offensive and racist bull sh** seen during the previous election. Name recognition might be important when trying to rally votes but how about we elect someone with actual skills, experience, and values? Not a radical, career politico.

I must agree with some of the resident's arguements. In annexation regulation, the annexing authority has the burden of proof concerning services that they will provide to the annexed property. I know the administration hasn't presented its plan yet, but what do they have left to offer? As Mr Bishop stated they already receive fine services.
Is making them pay for using parks & libraries enough reason to annex them?

Even if the event didn't take place within Chattanooga city limits, shouldn't a 'proactive approach' on the part of the police department include the dismissal of any officer who's actions constitute an assault upon a citizen? Especially when said assault ends up costing the taxpayers $10,000...

What business is Mr DePinto in? That might provide some insight as to why he disputes every recycling step the city takes.

Truthfully, Orange grove is a black hole for city funds & recycling does cost more than it saves. That said, the city and it's citizens knew this in the first place. I doubt anyone expected them to turn a profit or be self-sufficient. Look at it this way, at least the funds going there serve a purpose and help some of our citizens. It could be worse, they could be wasting those funds on more 'art' downtown.

Forget the McD's, the issue here is the pathetic level of customer service. The restaurant can exclude outside food if they want (post a sign and be done with the issue) but since when should they ever,even when irritated, insult their customers. Lying about health codes just makes it even more foolish on the part of the Boathouse's management and staff. I have never been to any Lawton's eateries and after this probably never will.
