All hardwood floors with brightly colored rugs.

My favorite features of the DC59 have to be the carbon fiber bristles for picking up the fine dirt and dust from the hardwood, and that it captures the microscopic dust. Living in LA our house is filled with so much dirt and dust and I hate having to lug out our big vacuum every few days! So the size and portability is also a fav feature. We’d mount this on the wall and it’d be so easy to grab and do a quick round over the floors! I’ve been dreaming of owning a Dyson so I would be SO happy to win this!

Re: Dream Space – Eclectic Home

My dream space would be a big bright craftsman home with lots of sky lights and open windows and a cozy home office. That's precisely what the first post was, un-opinionated, unaltered, professional journalism. Daisy was given an assignment to interview an author and use the same five questions that are always used. She did that. She didn't add her feelings or opinions of his behavior, because that wasn't the intent of the interview. The interview was not titled, "Daisy's opinion's of Tucker Max's behavior." Therefore, you didn't get that. She did not share, either way her opinions of who he is, or what he does. In this post, she very openly let you know that she was going to share he feelings and opinions. If you believe that feelings and opinions are not valuable sources of content, then don't read them. Daisy's feelings are her own. And that's the wonderful thing about feelings (different from opinions), they are her's and real and valid. You don't have to agree with them. They are hers, not yours. If you do not agree that they add value to your life, don't read them. If you are embarrassed by them, be embarrassed. It's not necessary though to project your feelings of embarrassment on "EVERYONE."Daisy is an incredibly strong writer, and person who shows an even more incredible amount of professionalism in what she does. The most wonderful thing about xojane, is that it is a place for women to share. And though it's the internet (so no one *has* to play along), the general premise of xojane is that even if we don't agree with one another, we respect one another. The outrage shown in the comments of the Tucker Max post was disrespectful, and hurtful. And unfortunately, that's apparently deemed acceptable and encouraged amongst women in our society, so I guess no one is really to blame. Thanks Daisy for being honest, professional, and willing.

Re: Shrinky-dink

Ditto to our other smart lady friends' comments. I'd help you in a heart beat. But, I think another little gem of self discovery here in your opening up to the idea of wanting a partner in crime, is also about the idea of asking for help. It's sometimes hard to remember (as @adholden and I discussed at length recently) that you have to ask for help. Whether it be from a boyfriend, or platonic friend. We all need help in different ways, and more times than not, we *need* to be explicit about 'how' so other people can come through for us. We feel more comfortable being vulnerable to a significant other, because yea, there are those other intrinsic benefits you can offer in return for the help.
In its simplest form, asking for help is showing your vulnerability to someone with an inherent trust that they will come through. And that can be scary. Also another reason why asking a sig other to help is easy, because that trust as been built.
I'm happy for you and your process and wish I were there to help you move the rug, or with anything else!
<3xo

Re: http://rocketshoes.tumblr.com/post/12345257280

nice find, drew. thanks for this.

Re: SXSW 2012 - Is technology making our lives richer or poorer?

Really looking forward to this. The goal: nice enough for long rides, but functional, sturdy and affordable enough for comfortable city riding too.

I ended up buying a used Allez Sport that, at the time, was almost two years old, with a total of only about 300 miles on it. It had some upgraded parts (shifters) and overall it was a steal.

Once I tinkered and made adjustments to fit my body and ride style it became the perfect bike. I use it for commuting/riding around the city, and can go on longer rides comfortably and with the right equipment.

Basically, I say Specialized FTW.

Re: http://rocketshoes.tumblr.com/post/1050218676

yea. this is pretty great.

Re: AOL Hiring: Ambassador of Lifestream – You WANT This Job!

I DO want this job!
