Where are the real climbers? You mean besides Alberto Contador and Andy Schleck. ;-) Well, the 100+ km of time trialing turned off some of the pure climbers who will be doing the Vuelta a Espana instead.

Bradley Wiggins has been on a good long run this year. Still lots of racing left in this year's race. One bad day or bad luck could make the gc exciting again.

Yes, if a break succeeds someone in it could certainly be the new race leader. Cadel has looked really good so far so if a break doesn't succeed then Frank Schleck is the only main rival with a good shot at taking the Yellow Jersey imho. I've tightened up our preview ;-)

because the Alberto Contador doping case from last summer's Tour de France won't be settled until August (after this year's race): http://usat.ly/lYNpfF However, the fact it takes over a year to resolve the case isn't his fault.

RadioShack has given their youngest rider, Janez Brajkovic, their leader's bib#. If he falters lookout for Chris Horner. He may be the second oldest rider in the race, but he's looked great in his few appearances this year and he's healthy.

The Italian (RAI/Gazzetta) coverage is scheduled to start at 14:30 CET and the riders are expected to crest the first ascent of Etna at 15:06 so yes, part of the first climb will be televised in Italian. I believe Eurosport will be live at 14:45 CET.

They just showed the top of the climb on TV. It's concrete near the top and not much wider than a bike path. It's currently foggy, but no rain.

Pau has been used many times, but only Eddy Merckx can solo to Pau from the High Pyrenees it seems. We'll get it right on the second crack at the Tourmalet after the rest day.
