Im not sure I had actually noticed it before, but if you go back and really watch those videos, you have captured her facial expressions to a T in many of your photographs. I love this image, and hope you are feeling better! Your surgery sounded like a very scary experience- I have horrible fears of hospitals and sickness, so to me you sounded very brave indeed! Yech! Was your appendix why youve gotten so sick so much this past year?

Dear Katie -
Keep taking pictures this beautiful, and I will send you another picture of a real live star trek postcard.
Saw Moon tonight - I am phobic of sick people, so it was so hard to watch parts of the end, but WOW. It was wunnerfuls.
I want to think, but lately, all Ive been doing is walking around feeling like giving people the middle finger.
Maybe I should think about that for awhile.
The shadows in your photos are amazing.
You are like a little bunny, hiding from the rain, from the fox, from the billys.

You should go to LA more often if its going to inspire you to take such fantastic photos. Its really amazing what a change of pace and scenery can do for a photographer. The shots youve posted over the past few days have been a breath of fresh air! I really love this.

I dont like people very much either.
Some man at my work two nights ago bumped into me, yelled at me to say excuse me to him, and then kicked me. In my leg. With steel toed boots.
Thats not a joke.

There are only about 3? Yeah! 3! People I wouldnt mind hanging out with everyday of my life. And one is coming in to town today!!

Im afraid you re gonna have to fight us for the coolest title. Pictures to prove point coming soon.

House of Leaves by Mark Dainelewski is one of the best recommendations that could be made, ever. I was so profoundly disturbed, absorbed... I thought my mind was becoming unraveled. Never has a book affected me in that way. The book that gets ignored is Mark's other book, Only Revolutions. Its poetic, stylistic - and by that, I mean you read it one way 7 pages, turn it over and upside down, and read another 7 pages. And again. and again. And thats how you read the entire book. And its worth it.

Anything by Tom Robbins, but esp Still Life with Woodpecker. I read his books, and Im laughing and wet at the same time. Which is how I like it.

Rebecca, by Daphne Du Maurier. Its old, antique, and haunting. Get through a boring first chapter that seems entirely too British for its own good, and youll never be the same.

The Secret History, by Donna Tart. Some kids that shouldnt do what they do do it anyway, and have sex, and go wild in the woods while they are at it. Not to mention, it ends up... well...
