Especially the team bonding is really important. Half of our team are remotely-based workers from different countries across the globe so we try our best to make them feel included. Bob here from Artbees. Thanks for this article, But I believe comparing Wordpress themes in such way you explained above is wrong, why? well then you should read this article (https://goo.gl/j1rXS5) I have posted few weeks ago.

Wordpress theme quality and performance can not be tested by checking some random demos pages. There are many reasons may mislead your judgement. Authors who have spent great deal of time optimising the demo pages can get higher score and majority of these optimisations can be just optimising that page in a way that or example Google likes them(their suggestions are fulfilled) and assigns them a higher rate. But it does not give any significance if that theme is actually a performant or fast theme.

You can see this article to see how we believe Google PageSpeed is a misleading factor to assess a WP theme’s speed and performance and how we have come up with a different way of benchmarking (https://goo.gl/j1rXS5). Here is the main objectives:

1- Same server resource should be used for all themes (256MB ram, 2 CPU core, PHP Version 7.1.7, Linux ubuntu 4.9.36)
2- Activated only the related page builder plugin (Visual Composer or other) for each theme
3- Added same type content for all themes (some text, page section and gallery)

We evaluated them using:

- WebGrind php profiling tool
- Chrome DevTools > performance tool
- Pingdom

By doing those,
1. we made sure that caching plugins are not affecting the results
2. with same content we are sure the page weight and content amount will not affect the calculations
3. Same server eliminates the server response affecting the results
4. WebGrind checks how much resources used by the theme (you can see the results function by function)
5. Chrome tools shows how much time it takes to render the content on browser

I believe we have tried to make it little closer to real benchmarking, but yours far away from being accurate. In fact some of the great themes discussed in your list have used methods to trick (or lets say beautify it for their benchmark) Google PageSpeed which just fakes a high score for them but actually is very bad for performance. Even some of Pingdom recommendations is deprecated in 2017(Browsers have evolved and HTTP2 emerged).
No wonder a theme like Enfold which to my belief is the fastest theme on market falls in the last rows. I hope you can reflect these in your benchmark or at least let the readers know that this benchmark is flawed and very relative.

P.S. I totally agree with @Miroslav and we no longer optimise it for those tools as well. What we have to do as theme authors is to make sure our themes are fast. This is the only thing Google and other search engines(and real users visiting the site) regards in case of speed not the grade itself.

Re: Jupiter X Beta Announced!
