The more an entry is reblogged, the more popular that particular post is. (Why else make the effort to spread it around?) Although I've never seen it in print, I consider it bad form to reblog someone's post after deleting the text Tumblr automatically includes. It makes it appear that the "reblogger" discovered the item himself or herself, but Tumblr automatically notifies the ORIGINAL poster of every subsequent reblog. This recently happened to me with the Aids Day poster of Death slipping on a condom when perfectdelirium reblogged it after deleting the aforementioned text. And everytime someone reblogged it from him (or anyone else down the line), I was notified by Tumblr.

About reblogging the same person a lot, that's a judgement call. The advantage of reblogging is that posts are seen by a wider audience. (The people you follow are not necessarily the people I follow.) That said, when I see something I like from a reblog, I usually check out the source and, if I like the stuff they post, add them to my list.

You and I seem to be in the minority because we've set up our blogs to allow comments. Most don't and it's frustrating when I feel the need to reach out and communicate with someone, but can't.

HTH,
Jason

Re: s o l i t a r y . s o u l

Same boy is here
