Same thing here. Anyone who is skilled enough in the Internet world could sense it was a possible hack. We knew it would eventually be restored (from backup etc.), so we didn't even bother contacting customer service. All is well now. For now.

StraightTalk is still the best option: $45 for true unlimited-everything plan (throttling at 3GB) and the best coverage (Verizon for CDMA).

That is the the free (open source) KeePass is the best solution.
Keep the encrypted .kbd file on a Google Drive and even if your Google account gets hacked, your vault is still encrypted...

With the free (open source) KeePass you don't need to install anything. Keep the encrypted .kbd file on a Google Drive and Voila! you enjoy the best of both worlds.

Unfortunately, some bloatware is bundled with the ROM. You can't uninstall it if you aren't an Android geek.

@un_aligned If you look at our website, you will notice tips for Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 as well (e.g "Make Your EPSON PERFECTION 3200 PHOTO Work with 64-bit Windows 7"). Yet, what is truly sad is that on today's hardware platforms that are 1000x faster than what you used to have in the '80s, the computing USER EXPERIENCE nowadays is that almost everything is actually slower... Go figure.

You can buy many unlocked smartphones for under $99 on eBay. You can even buy some for $25 or less, albeit running Android 2.3. They are used, of course, but so is a brand new phone one day later.

There is nothing novel in Apple's "automatic configuration of self-configurable environments". Any engineer who is skilled in the art can design such a system.
