The best way to measure the impact and success is to use all of the tools of internet marketing. Web Analytics is the most important in my opinion. If you are using social media to drive traffic or increase awareness you need to see if your traffic is spiking and where that traffic is coming from. If you goal is just to spread awareness and branding then it is harder to measure.

I’m trying to dip my toe in and learn more about social media because, currently as an internet sales consultant I represented 30% of sales and over 25.5 million in revenue last year for my company but I’m still trying to figure out how to learn more about this and implement it to be even more productive at bringing in sales for a company. Any suggestions (or companies to work with to learn more about social media would be awesome!).Nice interesting post.

-Use free classifieds to advertise your blog, event, site etc etc. Easy.
Like: Usfreeads.com, Craigslist.org, Kijiji.com, Uk.freeads.net, Ablewise.com, Vivastreet.co.uk
Pay to feature your advert for more ad’ exposure too add an image, logo to your ads. Works.

-Write relevant articles and submit to popular article submitting websites.

-Write Blogs using blogger.com or wordpress.com or typepad.com.

-You can provide RSS/XML Feeds.

-Submit your site to social networking sites like Bebo or Facebook.

-Offline, word of mouth. Try to tell your friends and their other friends.

-Advertising through banners. You need to join banner exchange sites for that.
Exchange links with other good relevant sites.

There is no doubt that there are some very successful people making money on the Internet but I have to add a note of caution because once you begin to check them out the choice and selection is overwhelming. The sad reality is that for all the thousands of online businesses only about 3% are making any money so you should be realistic,
Any one that says that they make thousands while they sleep is either a very well established online entrepreneur or sorry but a con artist who would only make more money if they could persuade you to part with some of yours..
There is no such thing as a get rich scheme or overnight success. Becoming a successful online entrepreneur takes time, money, patience and persistence. As in any other area of business people become successful by being focused, committed, working hard and learning from their mistakes.
All this said, yes it is possible - to begin with find someone who can prove to you that they are already successful and that you can trust and ask them to guide/ advise you.

You need to advertise it in the newspaper and also on any city forums that may be available. You can also have a sticker made to go on the back of your vehicle to advertise the business.
