Seriously what does a short course in negotiation cost in a good school? Let's do a crowdfund campaign and send our negotiation team.

Re: LIVE VIDEO: Presidency budget vote

I have to watch zuma at 1.5 x speed

Re: Online Auction Platforms for Repossessed Properties to Be Launched in Greece

Is this a rumor or a fact? Glad you enjoyed it! i had a lot of fun and it certainly is one of the best hackathons I've had the privilege of being a part of. The Eurobank team is fantastic. I hope to see your project progressing in the coming months. If I can be of any help, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Re: The Bus Stop Bus

Love it Stavros. Nobody wants to be uprooted and displaced in a foreign country where the language and cultures are so different that life is very very difficult. In the meantime, we'll do what we feel needs to be done to the level that we can contribute to doing it. Who knows, we too may soon be refugees seeking support from others.

Re: The Bus that Spreads the Entrepreneurial Bug around Greece

Thank you Gregory! I don't like to be a negative but have you taken a walk around Faliron or Hellinikon recently? I think the paper presents a position of "what could have been" not of "what is in place." I think we're much better off in some ways but much worse off in others. Let me give an example:

The only success in terms of venue utilization, if you can call it a success because it clearly depends on your point of view as regards the city we live in, is the Badminton Theater in Goudi Park. It is a false success in my view.

A little bit of background: Badminton is a non-existant sport in Greece. We needed a stadium to host the event and a prefab stadium was quickly built in the park as a temporary structure. The terms under which it was built clearly stated that it would be demolished at the latest 6 months after the games and thereafter, the various fenced off sections of the park would be unified to form a single metropolitan park.

Four years later, the fences remain, the stadium has been converted into "Greece's biggest theater" with a 30 year lease (which is currently being contested at the council of state). All this to the detriment of the residents of Athens who have less parkland than any other European city. True, the Badminton theater adds value in that it utilizes a venue that we have paid through the teeth for. If, however, we take into account the overall cost to the citizens of Athens, that value becomes negligible. In my view, there were many other venues that could have been earmarked for use in this way. There was no need to be so irresponsible and take away use of valuable parkland. More recently, plans have been presented to create a new multi-cinema entertainment complex within the park. We cannot allow this to continue. I'd like to encourage you and your readers to take a look at www.parkostogoudi.org or the Facebook group Parko Sto Goudi and to join in support of this worthy cause.
