That's really interesting that the number of people who are wiling to share their mobile numbers for texts and gps for location is increasing. I wonder what age of those that participate.

Sending you a virtual hug for the love and respect you gave your wife this holiday season. I am a single mom raising three amazing kids. Two of the three are young adults. Motherhood is THE most gratifying work in the world. I thank God for my children. I also love and appreciate my own mother more.

Love the idea for creating a new customer kit!

I'm rereading your book "The Referral Engine: Teach Your Business to Market Itself" I've come to the conclusion that the bottom line of everything I sell to my customers the common thread is trust. If I am able to sell my customers on the fact that I am "trust-worthy" then for all the services I provide my business does market itself.

Fascinating! Yes, my own kids don't fit the current educational mold and they get labeled as "deficient". My 17 year old was told because he wasn't getting good enough grades that he was on the deficiency list and was not allowed to go to the library and use the tools for study. How ridiculous is that!?

He is one that is labeled as having ADD. Whenever he turns an assignment in it's usually an "A"; but he's so scattered that he can't keep track of things to get most of his assignments in on time. He's usually focused on something like "beating the next level" on a video game full of puzzles to solve. He's very intelligent and is not satisfied with one answer at the back of the book. He usually writes the answer that the teacher is NOT looking for...not that it's wrong...just not the one the teacher is looking for. He is labeled as "deficient" because he won't conform, not because he's not intelligent. And, he detests conformity.

The really amazing "rest of the story" is that finally after seven years I came before the Lord and asked him if it was time to find me a partner - a husband to share God's work in and through me.

One night last October I asked God to send me someone who already knew and loved me because becoming vulnerable to a stranger to begin a new relationship just didn't appeal to me.

The very next day my first boyfriend from when I was 15 years old contacted me on Facebook. As we talked and got caught up with life he told me, "I have always loved you. If I would have known I'd find you again, I would have waited for you forever." He has been divorced under similar circumstances as mine for the last 10 years.

Now four months after that conversation there is discussion around a committed future together.

It is a beautiful love story that only God could write with his perfect timing.

Gina - this was a timely word for me. Thank you. Seven years ago I went through an ugly divorce where my beloved walked away from serving the Lord with me and joined himself with another woman. In it all God remained ever faithful. However, I am recognizing a lack of commitment on my part to many areas of my life for fear of rejection. That some how not fully committing to my dreams and my future would somehow protect me...let me concur how foolish that thinking is. My partial commitment to any thing has been destructive in my life.

Fortunately God has been committed to my recovery from this pain and has been leading me in the paths of righteousness for His name sake - giving me new opportunities to commit full out. Now I am watching my life blossom and be fruitful.

This is simple but powerful wisdom. Just finished Beth Moore's "Believing God" Bible Study. I love her proclamation of faith:

1. God is who He says He is
2. God can do what He says He can do
3. I am who God says I am
4. I can do all things through Christ
5. God's Word is Alive & Active...in ME

If we make this the foundation of all our thinking - whatever thought comes in to our thoughts throughout the day, asking ourselves, "How is God bigger than this?"; "What does God say He can do about this?"; "What does God say about me, and my abilities?"

Meditating on the living Word of God we are truly more than conquerors, over-comers by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony.

Thank you for the wonderful reminder of how God renews me as He transforms my mind.

Wonderful list! And a great post idea for me to talk about on my blog to my readers - with my own twist of course ;)

However I disagree with the first "gentleman" re: tweeting your own information more than once a day - especially if you don't have the followers that Chris does that will retweet a really terrific post like this one over 600 times.

My reasoning behind recommending that my readers tweet their blog posts / articles throughout the day is because most followers don't sit at their computers all day long and might only see in once depending on when they sit down. I don't read every single tweet that goes by even of my favs like Chris Brogan. If some of your followers don't get on Twitter until after work they will very likely miss what you tweeted about in the morning,

But as Chris pointed out - his first item on the list was to find OTHER PEOPLE'S TWEETS that are valuable and RT. I usually do this several times throughout the day.

What a cool idea to not talk about the book to your fans but the share the conversation with them about what the book’s themes mean to the readers. This is most obvious and natural but traditional marketing might have a different angle. My friend Sandra Shubert has advance pub uncorrected copy and is apparently loving it (from BEA). Looking forward to reading it.

It must be a sign of the times (or the technology).

I had a client who spends thousands of dollars on promotional products tell me that when she receives a proposal that is written with poor grammer and misspelled words in the first paragraph she puts the proposal in the "circular file" without ever reading past the first paragraph.

Just today, I spoke w/ a recuiter from Full Sail University in Florida, who told me she turns down potential students every day because they can't complete a written sentence. She says it's like the new college students do everything in "text-ese".

YES! I am so glad educators are talking about revamping the current education process - the process of training our youth to grow up and working factories for big corporate structures.

It's time our education process is inspired by the times in which we live. I am grafeful this is finally being paid over due attention.
