Then if we run into a problem or are just tired we can save it and finish it the next day. Also we get our return back faster because there are fewer people who file early. We e-file and have the return direct deposited into our checking account.

Re: So, I married a Mennonite...: join with all nature

good friends with a listening ear!

Re: Sponsor Giveaway: Graham Gardens Gift Basket!

I would love to try the butter bar!

Re: Watch the Premiere of the New Video for "You Run Away" | Barenaked Ladies

Love it!! I have 2 girls so I have a tough time getting rid of Sabine's stuff because I know Anika will wear it. But if you do have a girl next time around I don't think that will be a problem. Both Rebecca and I have girls and will send you plenty of clothes!

Re: Tackle it Tuesday: The Kid’s Room

I tackled the girls closet today. It has shelves in it that I stuffed all the out of season stuff that can be worn in the spring in and also the out grown stuff. Everything was falling off the shelves. So I pulled it all out separated the out grown from the usable and put them into those zipper bags that you get sheets and stuff in. I love those bags! I use them all the time for storage. Everything went back onto the shelves nicely. Now I have to wait until spring to go through it for real. Because, really, what 6 year old needs 40 short sleeve shirts!! But in my defense I didn't buy a single one. So I'll bless someone elses life with them later.

Re: Celebrating my Birthday

Funny how as we get older we want things that make our lives easier. The best gift I ever got was my front loader washing machine and stackable dryer!!!

Re: God Answers Prayers! I know that you are doing everything that you can to raise him up unto the Lord & looking to the Lord for guidance. That means everything. You are teaching him, not big things, but the little things that build up to the big things. And in the end we are all, hopefully, doing our very best for our kids. Like someone else said, that does not mean you do everything for him or make sure he is entertained every minute of every day. It means you do thing for and with him, that he knows you are there for him when he needs you, that you teach him that he is capable of doing things on his own.

I totally know how you feel! I've been so discouraged for so long. When Sabine was young I felt like I was doing things really well, teaching lots of things and do things with her. And then I had a very important person in my life criticize me when I was struggling. It all went down hill from there. Now I question myself everyday. Am I a great mom, I don't think so, but lots of people tell me I am. What I do know is that I am trying. I've just taken a fabulous parenting class that has help me in so many ways. I feel like I'm getting better and that my family is getting better. But really the measure of the goodness of a mother is not easily seen from the inside, nor is it seen when our children are small. The measure of a great mother is seen when the kids are older. In the our children speak about us to there friends, in what they feel they can talk to us about. I want to be THAT mom. The one who other people's children feel they can talk to as well. A home where my children's friends want to be because they know there is love and acceptance for all who enter. I cannot know if I am that mom know. I'll have to wait. But I have a goal and I can be that if I work for it. Motherhood is a huge job and it is not easy. There will always be someone who looks down at what we do or do not do with and for our children. The question is, what do you think. If you think you are doing your best and are focused on being better, then I think you are a great parent. There are plenty of parents out there that are permissive and take little interest in their children. But I don't for a second believe that you are one of them.

We have our children for 18 years. In that time it is our job to teach them the things they need to know to be successful adults. We teach a little at a time and we love at all times and in the end our best will always be enough. Always know that if you need to talk, I am here. I know how difficult it is. I struggle too, but I am trying.

Buck up little lady, I fix your wagon wheel!

Re: Girls Night

I wish I lived closer to my sister or to you guys for that matter. We would have so much fun. It's nice to see family as friends in this mixed up world. It makes my heart happy and a little sad to be missing all the fun.
