This is a good question, and we'll talk a little bit about the checklist mentality later. We don't want to encourage people to fill a quota, that they "have" to read PoC authors, and only then can they read what they "want to." Rather, we're trying to encourage incorporating diverse reading (or reading inclusively, to use your term, which I like) into your everyday reading habits. It's not an easy question, to be sure.

It has been SO HARD but so awesome trying to maintain 50%. It makes me painfully aware of the diversity gap in publishing. And Sarah, I agree, I make it a point to buy books by nonwhite authors.

This is a goooooood question. So couldn't come up with anything off the top of my head, but I took it to the Twitterverse and got: Storm and Jubilee (X-Men), Michonne (The Walking Dead), Agent 355 (Y: The Last Man), Nico (Runaways), and Misty Knight (Marvel character who crosses over into a bunch of stuff).

I meant that she grew up in the United States, so an American dialect would be easier for her than the previous three actresses I mentioned.
