So many crazy memories... Just wanted to say, I love the look of your new blog and the URL!

Re: Open Flowers, Open Palms

Thank you, Rain :)

Re: What I Know

Hello Sunni!

First off - I just watched your video, and... Wow! Thank you so much for sharing. It's funny but your video is exactly what I needed to see right now, because it's something I've been thinking a lot lately as I contemplate the violence inherent in so much (TOO much) of human history.

I'm trying to find my peace: a way of dealing with it that is beyond blame or pity. Beyond hate or fear. And your approach really struck me as intelligent, hopeful and so in line with my own values. I have decided that the cycle stops with me. I will no longer be violent to anyone else - even if they dehumanize me (and it has happened very recently), I refuse to return the abuse.

It's hard to keep up hope in a world as violent as the one we live in. No-one is exempt from violence in human society on Earth, it's all a matter of degree. I learned this when I moved from a small country in Asia to the financial center of the world's last superpower...

But you mention, we are returning back to love. Something in my (hurting) heart knows this is right. I only hope that we can collectively begin to unravel everything and heal all the hurt we've caused so far.

Finally - likewise, thank you for existing and thank you for sharing your words and your heart through your video! Hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead :)

Love,
-A.

Re: In these shells, you and I

And thank you for reading :) I will always share the beauty I perceive in this world!

Also, thank you for linking to my blog on yours! I just found your site last night and am exploring your thoughts and words.

Re: Clear Space

Hi Alistair, glad you like it! I like the idea, but I'm not aware of how a video desktop wallpaper is possible.

Re: How we transcend

Hello Dyamond! I'm so glad you liked this. I love the idea that when we love ourselves, we can expand and not be limited by the ego.

Love isn't what I thought it was - it is indeed freeing, and it is so freely available to us all. It constantly inspires me to keep rediscovering what love is, and I love sharing these discoveries :)

Re: NYC Travel Journal: Close Your Eyes, 17th June 09

Thanks Skylar! It's nice to hear from you :) It's funny that you posted this here today, I am now nearing the end of my life in New York City and moving on again. Hope you are well!

Re: “Your anger is a gift”

Dear Tanja,

It's always so great to hear your beautiful thoughts! And as always, you articulate something that's so near to my heart. Our sensitivity is certainly a gift, but it is a real conundrum isn't it? I myself can't really decide - to be part of the world or not? These days I lean towards wanting to run away...

But what about both? Perhaps there's a possibility of striking balance? Working for oneself, devoting oneself to serving others and the universe (and truth/beauty/love), creating time for important inner work and focus, and making sure to be in nature as much as possible.

At least, that is the direction I'm heading in right now. As I open up more online, I find that more people are really passionate about the same things that I am: I think that much of my writing in the near future is going to be about how sensitive, creative people can thrive in a world that's often hostile to our way of being.

Love,
-A.

Re: Clear Space

The wallpaper is actually a photo I took! I'm reminded that I'm part of this quiet (but incredibly potent) worldwide revolution towards living the life of our dreams. I realized this weekend that my purpose is to create heaven on Earth - to make dreams real. All of this is so exciting!

Thank you for sharing your words of inspiration and comfort.

Re: Entryways

Thanks Tanja, for sharing such a great quote :)

Re: Clear Space

Glad you love the post Annie! Less afraid of evolving, more afraid of stasis.

I love that the internet brings me in touch with people like yourself, and creates the possibility of us living through these experiences together, supported.

Re: Healing, flourishing

Travis - I'm so glad you mentioned that, about how solitary the journey can feel! I feel the same way often, but more recently I find myself surrounding by inspiring beings on a similar path of awakening. It feels like this planet is finally waking the fuck up, and I can't think of anything more exciting than that! We most definitely are not alone, though we may be spread out over the surface of the Earth :)

Re: Healing, flourishing

Thank you, dear friend! I love you too. And I'm so glad you're a part of this - and that I get to be a part of your journey too :)

All this is so exciting!

Re: Beyond Effort

Tanja, me too! I've lived in cities all my life, so I never appreciated nature when I was younger. Now, her complexity, ability to accommodate diversity beyond what the human brain can handle, her aesthetics and atmosphere are endless sources of inspiration.

I love what you mentioned about baby sea turtles. I'm learning to live more and more by feel - it's beautiful to move into this realm of being.

Re: In Trees and Twilit Skies

Glad you like, Sara! And yes - I'm totally obsessed with both too. At this point I photograph almost exclusively in the evenings. And I never tire of trees, always fascinated by how individual the forms are.

Re: To Fellow Travelers

Dearest Tanja,

Reading this beautiful comment some weeks later, I'm surprised by how serendipitous it is :) I just wrote a blog post about self-healing that I will post in the next few days, that I think answers this comment perfectly. In short, I agree with you that healing is some of the most important work we can do right now. When we learn how to heal ourselves, we will discover systems to help heal others. Shortcuts, so they don't have to do all the dirty work :)

Everything you've articulated about discovering true freedom is actually spot-on. When I first discovered how free I really was, I was terrified. It's taken years to really be able to step into it - it's been a gradual process.

Thank you so much for sharing this quote! We live in strange times, don't we? Very exciting to be here as the world awakens. So wonderful to know you, and to always hear your thoughts. Keep 'em coming! :)
