I click calculator, but that takes me to a page that offers an application sign up, not a calculator. Also, I cannot seem to get the application working at this time. This is a new site that they must still be working the bugs out of. Very nice design though!

Did everybody see the twitter icon? Most likely, you will see a shiny new calculator on their site soon. My guess is it will be Reverse Mortgage Solutions since Jam has a stake in that company as well.

Re: Consumer Reports or Sensational Reports?

Excellent points, Andrew! It is crazy that we treat this like it's our fault that Reverse Mortgage borrowers don't pay their T&I. Time to grow up, foreclose a few people, and start acting like a real industry.

Re: MetLife Grabs Top Wholesale Reverse Mortgage Lender Spot

If you are looking at the HUD endorsement reports you are looking at loans closed in the particular lenders name. So if you are a mini eagle and you are closing in your name (almost always), those loans do not count towards your sponsors numbers. Reports like Reverse Market Insight often break numbers into retail and wholesale.

Re: MetLife Grabs Top Wholesale Reverse Mortgage Lender Spot

Can't beat 5.56%!

Re: Online Social Networks Give Seniors New Way to Establish Connections

I haven't signed up for eons because I'm too young, but it looks really neat. That is unfortunate about reverse mortgages being bashed for misinformation, but that kind of stuff does happen on an open forum. A senior reverse mortgage specialist needs to sign up and spread the honest word. They need to use hard facts from HUD, AARP, And other credible sources. If they make these docs available people will read them. Some will continue to rumor, but some will come around to reason. It's a goldmine! If they are talking, they are just waiting for a good senior LO to join and show them the light. Plus it will spice things up!

Re: Online Social Networks Give Seniors New Way to Establish Connections

Thank You John! You obviously feel the need to show your skill, or lack thereof, to the world. I want to thank John for the kind words and I wanted to let everyone know that Senior Tracker is FREE, but it is in the beta stages.

It is fully functional and completely backed up once a day, but there are a few quirks and bugs that will be worked out over the next few months.

If you haven't checked it out, please do. As John pointed out, membership is FREE and has some great perks! Perhaps this is being mishandled or overlooked as an asset? That would be a rather large oversight, but then again, it does happen.

Re: HUD Secretary Open to Raising HECM Premiums or Adjusting Loan to Values

There are quite a few industry professionals that believe that it is mathematically impossible for the HECM Fund to be short. Maybe it's time someone does the math? Does anyone think they could do a close workup of where we stand? I know it's asking a lot, and probably impossible for a public person to get ahold of enough sensitive info to get an accurate answer, but it should be possible to get really close.

Re: US Regulator’s Speech About Reverse Mortgages Brings Up Legitimate Concerns

My feel is that there is a lot of concern due to the "rush" in the growth of the product. No one can deny that the Reverse Mortgage has gone from unknown to one of the most popular product in the US in a VERY short time.

I have always had concens about the taxes and insurance issue. Admin had a great article a while back titled "T&I, The Family Secret" (something like that). He nailed it on the head. Industry veterans have seen this issue for a long time and everyone has turned a blind eye to it.

Why?

Becuase it is a HUGE ISSUE!!!! Probably the largest in the industry, and I have yet to hear a good solution.

Do you escrow for the life of the loan? That would make a great deal of previously eligible senior, ineligible.

Do you let it ride as is? This is fine as long as the values always go up for padding when a senior defaults. However, we all know that the "always goes up" theory doesn't hold water.

I won't even consider foreclosing on seniors an option here, so what can we do?

Re: REMO Live Brings Custom CRM To Reverse Mortgage Industry

Very cool! Learn for yourself!

Ha-ha, I don't mean to offend you, but it is a competitive market and I don't give out secrets. You will all have something to compare your online presence to real soon. Keep your eyes open, it won't be long.

However, in answer to your question, it takes tech skills to make it cheap and effective, oh and about 500 hours of labor. Nothing is cheaper than your own labor.
