Spoiler, humans have historically pressed the wrong pedal, crashed, and then blamed the auto. Science done afterwards seems to always point to human error. This story will only make the rounds through because it's not a Toyota Corolla.

Re: San Diego Fire Department Calls Analysis

As a former FF, I can confirm, it's always way lower than citizens think. Do you realize how many car fires there are, every year? 416 a day. This is absurd that one electric car catches fire, and it makes FC.

Re: The Best Towns in Oklahoma for Young Families

Hate to be "that guy" but the article is misleading. The methodology is incredibly suburban. So you're going to get suburban results. Which is of course to say, the title is misleading. If you factor other amenities/benefits/options, you'll get different results. How about walkabilty, proximity to local foods, great restaurants, parks, transit, bike/trail system, and lots of family activities.

None of these cities save maybe Edmond offer the diversity of options that we as a family are looking for. To be frank, not even close. As a family with 3 kids we are looking for a place with good mass transit so everyone can get where they need to go without having to own a fleet of cars. We are looking for lots of great destinations like parks, museums, and civic space so our kids can grow up experiencing those things. A range of academic opportunities like career schools, private schools, tutors, and colleges ensure that our kids will grow up with plenty of learning opportunities all around them.

I appreciate what the article is trying to do but it does get a little old hearing about how places so far removed from a quality of life that so many are looking for is somehow competitive. There are a lot of young families living downtown around us here in Downtown OKC. And they keep moving in.

I'd suggest maybe a follow-up article where you offered people up more options and amenities to sort by so they can make a more balanced decision. In the meantime, the article should be corrected to read, "The Five Best Town for the Young Suburban Family".
