Awesome post! I had never heard of you before your first blog on Blurt and a friend recommended your first post to me which I loved! I wish you would post more often! Please!!!!

I've voted in three presidential elections and this is the first time my guy won! It feels so good to vote for someone like Obama that if it weren't for the Iraq War, Afghanistan etc etc it was almost worth losing in 2000 and 2004 to give Obama the chance to rise to a position where he could be elected president.

Still I sadly don't have high hopes for Obama. I voted for him with the belief that if he came through with 1/16 of what he has promised then we're lucky. I know how hard it is for people of high ideals to actually make a serious change in Washington. Once they've taken care of all the special interests who kicked in so they could get elected there isn't a lot of room left for their personal beliefs and politics so even if they run with the best of intension's those intentions aren't always possible to put into place. For that reason I'm, going to take Justin's advice and write to Obama about campaign finance reform because we need to get big money and its influence out of politics if we want anything in this country to change.

In the end I believe that Obama will do his best to make a positive change for the people of this country and the world. I'm willing to give him a chance and to see where he focuses and what he tries to do. If he doesn't keep to his word then I'm going to let him know about it.

I call my local representatives sometimes and I believe that it actually makes a difference. So many people in my area called in opposition of the Wall Street bail out that my Democratic Representative went against the party and voted against it! I called to thank him for listening to us because this bail out has been nothing but a give away to Wall Street and the banks! It's a joke!

Anyway my main point is that our representatives need to hear from us when they do good AND when they do bad so be sure to do BOTH! I think Justin is saying that but maybe not as bluntly.

Good post Justin! Keep it up!

Peace, Shelly M
