I, of course, have a great interest in your Devs goal. It's a tough thing to do, to make typing on a computer seem interesting :) But I have always felt that Baltimore has a crazy strong core of developers. The OrderUp team alone is like a Who's Who of Baltimore Developers, or as I like to call them, the "Justice League" equivalent of developers.

The Diversity goal is something that I've always enjoyed seeing a focus put on as well. I have seen great things come from having a diverse group of perspectives collaborating.

Thank you for the great work you do for Baltimore and for pushing yourself to become even better. As I like to say (and I wish I could remember where I heard it first so I could give credit), "You are never standing still, you are either moving forward or falling behind." Keep moving forward!

Re: Digital Media and Learning Competition 5

Would love to be a part of this in Baltimore! We need more young tech talent and the WebSLAM is a great event!

Re: SXSW 2013 and SXSWedu: list of Baltimore attendees and #notatSXSW Happy Hour

Shawn and Steph Grimes (aka The Grimes) are representing DHF's STEM Engine program at SxSWedu. We gave an impromptu talk today on preparing students for careers.

Re: How to get Developers and Designers to go to your Hackathon

So many good points in this article. My favorite event that was ever held was the First Baltimore Hackathon. It was my introduction to the Baltimore Tech Community (despite having lived here all my life and being in the tech field professionally for 12 years by that point). It was exactly what I wanted to get out of an event as a developer: Low pressure, more about hanging out and working on cool things than building a business or winning a competition. It gave me a chance to set aside time to work on something that I thought was cool but I didn't feel any pressure if I totally bombed at it.

Re: Should you be able to get valuable work study experience as part of your High school curriculum?

I think that a very important part of a students success depends on their ability to function appropriately in a professional environment. Students need experience in these environments before their income and livelihood depends on it. That's why I think work study should be part of the school curriculum.

Re: Learning iOS Game Programming Book – Coming Monday

Book sounds great. I pre-ordered the kindle version already. What stinks is the epub version is like $28 compared to the kindle version for $17. But it sounds like the material is well worth it. Can't wait to read it.

Re: Learning iOS Game Programming Book – Coming Monday

Sounds great.

Re: 7 lighting setups

Great video.
